Bleeding Brakes?

I know this might seem like a nooo brainer but i'm going to get ss brake lines and after i install them bleeding the brake is the same concept as doing it on a car correct?
....just wanted to dbl check before i do anything and then go riding and have nooo brakes! lol

It's the same concept. When I got my front lines on, it took a long time to bleed in the new fluid to the master cylinder and to the lines, but after it was done, everything is great.

Speed bleeders are your friend.

Do NOT get even a drop of fluid on your paint.

Be patient though because it can take a lot of squeezing and refilling.

Enjoy every minute of life!

I spent the extra cash on a mityvac a few years ago. One of the best investments ever. Makes bleeding the brakes a breeze.

what exactly is the mityvac i'm guessing something like a speed bleeder

No its a hand pump that sucks the fluid from the resivour through the master and down through your lines all but eliminating air bubbles. You simply put the hose over your bleeder bolt, open the bleeder and pump away, until the fluid comes through, then close off the bleeder. Start with the master first then the calipers. I just put on some Galfer lines myself. I changed to a race fluid so I completely emptied my system. I couldnt get the master to bleed at all without using the vac. I rented one at an Advance Auto...$50..full refund when you return it. Be extra careful not to let your resivour empty. (I'm sure you know this but it can happen very quickly when using this vac) If it sucks any air in START ALL OVER! If your changing to a race fluid like I did be sure to press the cylenders in the caliper all the way back to empty all the fluid out.
The speed bleeders are another type of bleeder bolt I think.

+1 on the Mitivac. After years of doing it the "old fashion" way I got one this week. Tried it out tonight on my rear and it worked pretty good. Got the model 8000 on Amazon for $27. I did have to put plastic wrap around the lid on the collection bottle to get a good seal but other than that it worked fine. I had the rear completely bled in about ten minutes and most of that was assembling the pieces. It also used less hose since I didn't have to run it all the way down to a collection bottle. Well worth the money.

definitely going to look into getting one thanx for the tips on um yea bleeding breaks the conventional way is suchhhh a hassle

Idk about anyone else, but I also bought a mighty vac and I hate it. Maybe I havent figure out how to use it properly, but it seems pretty straight forward.

But when I bleed my lines, ill pump, and get a million bubbles coming out FOREVER. They never stop, and it boggles the mind that there could be that many in there. If anyone knows a trick with these units please give me a heads up. I feel like im to smart to be this stupid, haha.

I noticed this also when using their over the bleeder cap. I ended up using a connector to a smaller piece of tube and squeezed it over the bleeder cap. It makes a tighter seal and won't let air get sucked past it like their black cap will.
