Sent from somewhere down the bayou.

I believe that Honda wanted to celebrate a decade of The Repsol Team so they made a special edition in 2005. Nicky Hayden won the championship in 2006 so they made the Repsol a 2007 special edition once again. Repsol sales were so good that thy decided to do it in 2009 and 2011 without any special occasion. 2013 should be the next version of the Repsol if everything goes as it has in the past, but who knows... All I know is that if the Repsol comes out next year, I'm getting it!!!

Hope this helps with your question.

The "odd year" production pattern is typical, but nothing official concerning the
2013 CBR 1000RR/Fireblade has been announced, AFAIK.

As mentioned, that makes the 2011 Repsol edition Fireblade/1000RR the "last one" (thus far). :)

- '08 Pearl Orange CBR 600RR (sold)
- '11 Graphite Black CBR 1000RR (sold)
- '06 Black & Metallic Gray RC51
- '02 Silver & Black CBR 954RR

Hopefully you never have to order body parts for one,Honda makes us get proof of ownership in order to order Repsol parts, meaning only the owner of the bike can get parts for it,same with the Nicky edition RC-51,guess Honda is worried about people getting ahold of repsol parts and copying them.

Had to do a wreck estimate for one of our wholesale accounts and Honda would not even release part numbers till they had proof of the new owner.

honda just doenst want people to make a fake one thats all. if you own one and need body parts its not that difficult to bring the ownership in with you.

Didn't think Honda would be that anal about that. Considering they are not as limited as they first were.

When I was working in Parts Marketing, it was the same process here in Canada to get the Repsol plastics AND the belly stickers. These were, not sure ifthey still are, placed on by the dealer.

We also sell the Repsol 125R

Chinese fairings companies getting hold of a set and getting actual paint codes off the fairings then making a killer selling cheap plastic with the original Repsol colors codes Instead of just similar Repsol colors that every fairings vendor sells

That makes sense but I am sure they can get a hold of them by just buying the bike right??

Very true but it would not be cost effective at that point as they would need to sell 2000 at 600 each sets to cover the cost of buying a complete Bike

I am going to assume you meant sell 20 at $600 per set which would equal $12,000 as opposed to the 1.2 million for the repsol bike?

I agree with everyone, a repsol in the garage would be a fine work of art.

I think randy said it best when be said "Congrats on buying that REPSOL! You know its just paint, right?"
