License plate location

Where is the wrong place on the tail to get pulled over by cops? How low or high? Never been pulled over but from hearing so many ppl getting pulled over for it, just wondering if i got it at the correct spot.

where you located? here in cali, i was pulled over for having it under my battery tray. i got a fix-it ticket, moved it to under my exhaust, and haven't had a problem since.

most states require the plate to be lighted and behind the rear axle. behind meaning more to the rear

I have mine as high and my FE is as close to stock as possible...

I never understood the whole I have to hide my plate as deep into my bike and get the most hidden smallest blinkers possible thing.. Don't get my wrong factory rear ends are horrid but a happy medium is where its at for me.. Clean visible for cops and people behind me so I don't become road tar..
