I have to say something maybe it will come off kinda wrong but..
I would like to see someone start PCing their swingarm and engine covers other color then black... Im not sure what other color would look good but Im sure theres one out there..
Hell ya! They look great Thomas. Thanks for helping me out with these. I can't wait to pick them up this weekend. Everything is coming together great! I should be on the road by next weekend. I haven't rode since late November and it's been killing me!
Check out the bearing in the swingarm before you put it back on. When CBR/LS1 got his back they had expanded and had to be replaced. We forced one of the collars in before finding this out and it was a serious PITA to get it out.

dang they do look good. looks like good quality work.
as for doing another color.. my dad just powdercoated some wheels he bought for his 1938 Packard as the polished look didn't really go with the car.. he did a Deep silver (almost black tint in the curves- the color on infiniti G35 wheels) and it came out awesome.. sooo somebody needs to get creative and try something new.. i think you can use virtually Any color if i'm not mistaken....
..but for the record i still think black is pretty pimp.

I will definatley do that! Toe had one of these PC's by the same shop and his turned out fine, so mine should be okay.
The swingarm swap requires some jackstands and non folding rearsets (or a bolt inplace of the pegs) or by hanging the bike by the subframe. The hardest part was finding a 19mm hex socket, but I found out that the butt of a 5/8" spark plug socket has a 3/4" or 19mm hex end. Toe also explaind to me that you don't need a 19mm hex and that you can use just the 17mm hex socket on one side and the pinch bolts to secure the other side. I'm about to pull off the old swingarm tonight and I'll let you guys know if I run into any hickups.. So far so good..
Thanks! Ya the sportbikecam used to be an eye sore. not any more. I think I'll cover my gas cap w/ one of those carbon look stickers and put the sportbike cam mount over it. The pasanger pegs used to have the tie-down loops on them, but my friend broke one of while trying to tie down my bike to his trailer. They suck for that purpose. Don't try it. I kind of like the clean look better. I took them to the gunsmith next door and he put them on the grinder for me.
Thomas, BTW, how were your bearings when you installed the swingarm? Did you have any problems like GA_RR is talking about?
Oh ya, and the old ancient 2003 swingarm came out with out any problems last night. The hardest part was removing the mid pipe off my Arata full system. It takes two guys and a rubber mallet. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but we got it off anyway..

Not sure how different the '05's piping can be but on CBR/LS1's we just did a little pushing on the Arata and the swingarm came out and went back in without removing the exhaust system.
On those bearing, it should be pretty easy to tell if they're f'ed or not. The should roll smooth as silk if they're ok. When CBR/LS1 got his back from the powder coater you could hardly turn the rollers.

Ya I have the 03 and it's a litle to late to leave it on. I needed to take it off to clean it up anyway. I had some plastic melt onto it (the old exhaust guard.) What do you clean titanium with anyway?
I'll be sure to check those bearings too. Thanks for the info!
