opinions on chrome wheels

i am new to the site and im sure everyoens goin to cut up, but whats everyones imput on getting my factory wheels chromed

yucky. Not a big fan of the bling...extra weight to right? And alot of work to keep shiny.

I would never chrome my rims but if you like it who cares right? It just doesn't flow with the look on our bikes/sportbikes IMO. Hogs, yes but not sportbikes.

I remember when it was cool to polish the crap out of anything that was aluminum. Frame, swingarm, wheels...etc. For me, it's too much work to keep clean if you ride.

I think polished wheels have their place, and polished lips look great on some bikes. Hating on anything people do to their own bikes is kinda ghey IMO.

i dont like chrome either, but its all personal pref. i did polished lip, it goes well with the bike i feel. i love rim tape too tho.

Your relating something that belongs on harleys and show bikes to a bunch of guys what want less weight, more performance, and to drag knees all day long. It has its place on some bikes. I have seen some mean polished marchesni's on a ducati that looked amazing. Polished lips look cool, just be prepared to spend more time cleaning the damned things then riding the bike. Its bad enough cleaning chain lube off everything non-chromed or polished. I perfer the black/gold combo to chrome. We all have our things.

hha alot of people hate the chrome but thats fine thats why i asked, i never really thought about how much more of a pain it would be to clean. i dont know if i will do it now but i still think it looks decent

Its not my thing, but your opinion is the only one that counts. Do what you think looks good on you bike. Its your bike, you should enjoy it.

There are worse things you could do (like the leopard fuzz look).

chrome looks funky to me too! try marchesini wheels...pricey, but worth it!

Chrome almost seems "Anti-Performance" to me. Nothing says poser like shiny extended swingarm, frame, wheels, frame sliders... Now with just having the wheels chrome, thats not really poserish to me, but I don't personally care for it. Your bike though so don't worry about what I think too much. Just don't extend your swingarm and chrome it out. That is gay.
