07' track only build

Hey everyone, just bought this 07'600rr and I'm making this my track only build. Here's a couple pictures started didn't anything to it besides take off the mirrors, passenger pegs, and reflectors. Also, gave it a NICE clean as it was much needed.

Future mods for this bike:
Armour Bodies track plastics (partial installed)
ASV shorty levers (installed)
Akrapovic slip-on
-1+2 EK chain/driven sprockets (installed)
Spielger SS brake lines Front/Rear (installed)
Woodcraft frame sliders
Woodcraft clip-ons
Woodcraft case covers
Ohlins front/rear suspension

Here are some pics.

Thanks! I think I may have to hold on to the track until 2013 gonna be a tad pricey. Honda all the way though! You can even see the Honda CR-V in the 3rd picture haha. The difference is amazing compared to my 03' the 07' is just so much lighter.

Except for the plastics and brake lines, I'd skip all of that and buy tires, track time, and track riding lessons from a reputable school. Replace all of that when you go down.

Yoshimura / Speigler / Puig / Motul / PitBull / ASV / Woodcraft / Vortex / Vesrah / Michelin / K&N / Bell / Teknic / Alpinestar / Marietta Motorsports / Swagga Race Team

Good advice...I was going with that thought but what I listed above is what I want it to be (eventually).

Quick update:
Gonna start ordering some small things to start out. Front/rear SS brake lines, Renthal grips(soft), -1+2 chain/sprocket kit, and start taking some small things like the rear brake light and brackets and possibly all the body work. Parts should be here by the end of this week...let the anxiety kick in!

ah, so YOU bought that bike? It is a nice looking bike. You probably won't feel like riding your 03 now, in all honesty. Why not make that bike do double-duty (street and track) and sell the 03? Or is not street-able because it has no title?

For one can't sell the 03' until the damn thing blows up. Has too much sentimental value. Also, can't ride the 07' on the street because of the no title thing so I'm making it a dedicated track bike.

Quick update: Completely tore down the bike and getting ready for track fairings. I need to do a coolant change and remove that anti-freeze (not allowed on the track). Also, I need to do a oil change/filter as well. My damn bike store was closed today so the oil will be on hold.

Yeah same here. It'll be about two weeks or a month to get the fairings. I don't want to order them now and have no money in my account, since I have all winter. I'm thinking of a scheme like cozeye's bike. I'm going to make it look like the white OEM/silver I posted but the silver will be black and the white will be a aqua blue.

Done the coolant change, was a breeze since I did a coolant change on my 03' before. Enjoy the ghetto oil pan. My flame suit is on :)

Replaced the Anti-Freeze with Engine Ice, you can see the blue in the coolant reservoir.

Now the battery is back on tender.

Ordered some goodies. Just waiting for them in the mail and working on getting the akrapovic slip on. Waiting on these goodies: -1/+2 driven sprockets with EK gold chain, renthal grips, ASV C5 shorty levers, and Front/rear Speigler black SS brake lines. I might order the exhaust next or the track fairings...idk yet.

return your asv levers. theyre garbage imo. use that money towards good brake pads or a brembo m/c of some sort. lol.
wait for the exhaust later. get the skins, tires and your suspension.

Love the ASV's...I have them on my 03'. I'll stick with the regular MC for now. I was thinking about the exhaust too..not really needed. They have battle axe 016's basically brand new on the bike now(switching to michelin power ones). Suspension is going to kill me, I'm so pissed that my 03' ohlins doesn't switch! The front internals isn't going to kill my wallet but the damn rear shock will.

Just a suggestion...if you plan to race too later on...

Do suspension first, get a sexy rear shock and some a cartridge kit. Have it tuned for your weight and riding style.

Good set of race tires (BS-R10s are awesome, BS BT-003, Dunlop Ntecs, pirellis)

Brake pads (I fancy the Ferodos)

Of coarse adjust all your controls so your comfortable in race/track environment...everything after that is extra.

In my first race my bike was completely stock except for race fairings and some NTECs...the turn workers said they couldnt hear go by it was so quiet from the stock exhaust, hahaha. But I was stuck in dead last on the grid in 33rd, and finished 7th.

Since then ive blown probably 3 grand on parts, and sacrificed track time. The bike fits me almost perfect now, but I didnt improve in times as much as I thought I would. Shoulda invested most of that in time on the track, oh well, I learned what I need to do for 2012 :D

Hope my rambling helps ya out, lol.

Oh ya, if you're looking for some "fun" cheap mods over the winter. Do the exhaust servo removal mod, and the PAIR removal.

This site has good "How To's" on both

Just received some goodies today: front/rear SS brake lines and renthal grips. I should be getting the 520 -1/+2 kit tomorrow as well as my ASV c5 shorties. PS: Just ordered some armour bodies elite signature series (big shout out to Neek for that one, thanks!).

OK: installed front/rear ss brake lines today and renthal grips. Took forever to bleed them and I had to gravity bleed them at first after that it was a breeze then I realized that my front brake lever was really spongy even though the brake fluid was bubble free. I had to bleed the M/C and everything is fine. Also, found that my air intake is bent/cracked...NICE(sarcasm).

Rear brake

front brakes

bleeding after installed

bent to ****, forks are fine...only fairing stay, easy fix.

cracked air inake

swapped out these

for these

I bought my '07 trackbike a couple of years ago, already fitted with the Armour Bodies, and then I painted them myself with some rattle can paint and a lot of patience.

Here is the bike fitted with the A.B.'s

Here is the finished product taken a couple of years ago.
