as much as i crash it, i figured i might as well start a thread for this poor bike. plus track season is in full swing and i have lots of plans for this '03:cruising: so instead of being a real build thread, it will just be a diary for my bike, since it goes thru so much trauma.
after my get off this past weekend, and having over a month till my next TD, it is time for some repairs, and maintenance. below are a few pics of what i did this morning to assess damages. i think i got off pretty easy. looks like a few tweaks and rashes. what worries me is the radiator, because it looks twisted to me. i haven't started it yet, simply because i believe dirt entered the airbox and i haven't gotten that far into tearing it apart. once i clean that out, i'll start it and get it up to temp to see if it holds water. if it does then i should be golden. you can see that the brembo got rashed and moved around a bit, hurts my feelings, but there's still pressure when i pumped the lever a few times. hopefully after a repositioning, and a flush and bleed, everything will be ok there. my cheap, eghey, plain, delrin sliders have really done a nice job thru three get offs. one pretty gnarly one even. :banger:
this year, i have some ideas. definitely want to go keyless, cap and switch, woodcraft case protection, new chain kit(can't decide on gearing), 05-06 track body work with my own custom scheme, the list goes on.
damages to repair: new grips, new throttle cables, sliders, front stay looks bent to hell, and it's that junk oem metal, so i don't even know if i can persuade it back into position without breaking it or not. i'll need the little plastic plug for a vortex bar end. i'll add to the thread as i remember other things.
please comment and give me ideas, cause i'm always open to suggestions, although i have a vision of what i want the bike to be. it's already pretty sweet IMHO:crackup: now onto the pics, in case you have never seen and 03 CBR600RR before:retard::
here it is at the beginning of the season.
