What constitutes a "turn"

In terms of turning adjusters?

Does turning the adjuster from, say, | to | equal a full turn or is that a half turn?

Or does turning from | to --- equal a half turn..

I've always wondered this ...

totally depends on the application. your front forks. a turn would be 360deg rotation. if you have clickers then you would adjust 1 click.

I'm a visual learner... I know it sounds lame but 360 degree turn, if starting from | ... Would be: | ---> --- ---> | ---> --- ---> |

Preload = turns (fork springs)

Compression = clicks

*Preload - springs are being turned to provide more or less tension on the spring.

**Compression (lo/hi speed rebound or compression damping) are clickers. You will actually feel each click.

However, on the rear shock, you will have a click adjustment for preload as well, which requires a spanner wrench or hammer + screw driver.

I understand which adjustment interface does what ...

I just want to know how a turn(let's just use fork rebound) is calculated. If the fork rebound adjuster screw is completely up and down vertical to start, and you put a marker dot on the very top of the screw... Where would the marker dot be (top again, or bottom) after 1 "turn" ???

false. not all are clickers! the cbr600 doesnt use clickers on the stock suspension (unless that changed for the 09 up.?)

Hmmmm..

Please, inform us. When someone is referring to "clickers", what part of the suspension are they referring to..?:

a) Rebound Damping
b) Compression Damping
c) Preload
d) None of the above
e) All of the above

They are usually referring to a damping adjuster that has it's setting range divided into distinguishable steps. On a 07 the only adjuster with clicker setting is rear shock compression. Rest of the adjusters are stepless. Rear preload settings are usually referred to as notches.

1 turn = 360 deg. The adjusters even have a punch mark to help visualize it. I don't see the possibility for any other interpretation.

Turns are turns and clicks are clicks. An adjuster might have, for example, 8 clicks per turn. If so, 1 click is 1/8 of a turn.
