There's definitely a future in the idea, I think the Skully AR-1 was way too rough of a prototype. BMW is putting serious manpower behind this idea so I think we'll see something soon in the retail space.
Well the optimistic blog post was written nearly 10 days ago. The crash and burn article just 9 hours ago...I don't think there's any hope after reading that..
Wow that sucks. I have a buddy who was a Kickstarter backer and will probably never see one or a refund. I have the Reevu and it works good for me, a bit bulky but I love being able to see behind me.
Ouch. This takes vaporware to a whole new height. Though from a legal stand point, this case doesn't have chance of going anywhere. The company was privately owned so the owners could legally do as they pleased with the cash and the people they hire. At worst the owners might get a slap on the wrist for some civil penalties or something if the accountant's statements are found to be true that she got "hush" money and that they called her new employer to dirty her name. As for the folks that pre-ordered, they're out of luck. Since Skully is filing for bankruptcy, it's going to be a seriously uphill battle to get anything back out of them.
This is really a case of poor business practice and that's about it.
