Did this trip the summer of 07 on my 1000RR and it was a lot of fun. I did San Francisco to New Orleans and took Hwy 1 all the way down. Also did Ortega Hwy.

Sometime, when weather is good, try aride to Hollister?

I can show you a nice way from Hollister to Hwy 1 that skips the crappy congestion on 101 to Hwy 1 connectors.

Riding down the coast can be dodgy, watch the weather.(plan ahead!)

There's a way to get down to LA from SJ almost entirely on country roads, where you won't meet more than a few cars/hr......but it ain't hwy 1 scenery.

Personally, no desire to ride long distances in traffic, day trips for me ATM!

you guys are lucky out there in Cali, and on the mountainous part of the east coast as well. There's nothing down here in the south.

it's even cooler if you start further north. I rode my CBR up to stinson beach where Hwy1 was very twisty.

I'd like to ride the entire west coast some day.

You guys have those down south back country swamp roads.. All the cool green and old plantation property's to see down there. I think there is quality riding all over the US. I would love to ride some southern roads. One day ??
