And to jump into the 1911 debate a little late..
A 1911 is nothing more than a pretty or race gun.. I would not put my life on one for combat or everyday carry.. If you want reliability either buy a wheel gun Glock or sig.
And before someone calls me bias I've shot my share of Springfield's a les bear kimbers RIAs and sig 1911s... With simple range use I can into FTF or FTE every now and again with a few ever couple rounds with good and cheap factory ammo.. My buddy's Taurus was a POS he ended up replacing so man parts it was a new gun..
Before you say I'm a Glock fan boy which I am for a reason I do love my 1911s and am in line for a les and SA Operator as we speak.. But again they are great beautiful guns but are not build for anything but precision and looks anymore and before you throw out their time in service I can give you countless horror stories on guys and gals who can go on for days with the POS issued gear they out up with firearms and all..
But if you want a semi and want it to run to Glock or sig maybe HK not 100% only so much time with that gun to be for sure.. But my Glock 17 has 4k rounds and counting with minimum cleaning (I'm getting lazy and trying to have it jam) with all types of ammo and tons of cheap bulk second reloads.. As you guys can see from my collection I have tons of ammo and actually shoot my guns because I have to buy ammo and go through that every 6 months.
I use my guns in range and at combat classes and I work on a military base and have pro pages of knowing the people I do who let me know and do way more than I should so I have a lot of info most couldn't know..
But again I'm not against one firearm more than the next they all have their place and all don't have a place.. Yes you can get a Glock to jam but its almost as common as finding a 1911 that won't.. 1911s are very picky again why I say great beautiful guns but battle sidearms.. Not so much.. Sorry 1911 guys its just how it is.. But again not every Glock or insert name here is perfect.. But 1911s in my hands and hands of my friends from the 20+ I've seen/shot have a good amount of issues with feeding or ejecting or parts breaking as can be said for how many glocks I've ran and seen run in person at the range competition or classes not have issues. Speaking pre gen 4 those are just horrid crap IMO. But slowly gettin better but still have a long way before they make my approved list.
But I'm lucky to have enough range time bullets down range to confidently say this.. So anyone have any questions or disagreements ill happily give my $.02 on what I know.. And I don't read magazines or watch history channel for their biased paid reason.. This is all 100% range/competition/class experience so no BS being fed here. Also I'm not really a fan of any gun more than another because I've grown to realize that's just simple mixed thinking and pride which just clutters your experience to new better things.. So guns to me are tools and ill be happy to say what have worked broken and just frustrated and disappointed me while putting time in
And by all means I'm no expert or any where close but I'm cut and dry and will tell it out it is. Weather you I or they like it. No reason to lie or hide truth and facts IMO if a gun sucks ill admit it and sell it or not buy one.
