It means your battery is due for replacement. Some types of batteries will hold a charge longer than others but I don't think that's really the issue here. You just need a new battery.
Your battery is done it's due for replacement. You should try shorai it's super light, I have one on my Ninja I think it's about 25% the weight of the OEM battery.
A lithium pack will lose ~1% a year, lead acid more of course.
OP, are you letting the bike sit for long periods? There is a certain amount of parasitic draw that occurs. If it sits for long periods then you need a battery tender.
We can't just say that it's a battery problem if it's actually a "needs a tender" type of problem. We need more info.

Is the only advantage of the shorai battery the weight loss? Or does it perform better than OEM as well? Pros, cons? I thought about buying one in the near future.
Less losses over time, and longer overall life. The main con is cold weather performance. If you live and ride when it's in the 40's and below, it may take an initial start attempt to cause the battery to warm its internals and perform near its peak.
A funny/weird behavior of the Li-on battery, is that it doesn't make it's Cold Cranking Amps rating when cold. So if you switch the bike on, the gauges and light will draw power from the battery and warm it up, making it stronger over the course of a few minutes. It's weird to see a battery get stronger every time you crank it (happens a lot at the track here in the desert, where it's pretty chilly at 8am.)
get one of those gell batterys. can't remember the name, but they are orange. Havent had any problems with mine if you type in gel battery, it should come up and it is easily recognizable
