Ok, so we got riding season coming up in roughly 2 months, and I am sure everyone is ready to ride. But right now I am trying to get a feel on where everyone lives and who's down to ride. Every Tuesday we will be going to Hooters for bike night in Lansing and weekend rides to wherever.
So if people want, lets make a call to all MI riders and start setting up weekend rides and get togethers. As far as introductions, Ill start if off; names Paul, from Lansing, MI.
Here's my chinese plastics, I also follow that 10ft/10mph rule lol. I also just bought a new set of tires for it no 50$ though......I'm always down for a ride though

@@@@ Chad you picked up a bead breaker where did you get it and does it work good? Just did another bike last saturday and have two more lined up, thats the hardest part of the whole process.Wanted to buy one but never did yet...Let me know how it works...And did you ever do any harleys yet? I got one to do and woundering if they are any different..I.think they should be kinda easy with a fatter side wall then ours...Or its going to be the other way around?? A pain in my ass...Thanks..
I got it at Harbor Freight for $20ish. Works like a dream. Took about 30 seconds to break down all four sides. They worked on my 180s, 190s should work, anything in the 200 series tires might be pushing it, as it may not open wide enough.
The larger the side walls, the easier they tend to be. Of course, you get a stubborn one every now and then. I did a bunch of cruisers while I was a mechanic. The process is the same, but typically easier, as there is more sidewall to manipulate while installing.
This is the one I got. Didn't feel like spending the extra $25 on the "better" one. This one did it's job very well.

Might be coming south for a visit weekend of Aug 4th.. Let ya's know as it gets closer. It's a toss between that and Bud Bash in Houghton Lake that weekend.
You kept it a secret. 1/2 hour from me. I ride that way a lot
