Ok, so we got riding season coming up in roughly 2 months, and I am sure everyone is ready to ride. But right now I am trying to get a feel on where everyone lives and who's down to ride. Every Tuesday we will be going to Hooters for bike night in Lansing and weekend rides to wherever.
So if people want, lets make a call to all MI riders and start setting up weekend rides and get togethers. As far as introductions, Ill start if off; names Paul, from Lansing, MI.
@ chad::: Just wondering have you ever patched a road bike tire from the inside ? Just a patch not a plug and a patch..Cause came out of work and seen i picked up a nail in the rear tire...Pissed cause i only had 200 miles on it or so..Going to STG to buy another on saturday and was going to use this one for a back up..I know when i used to work at discount those patches would last the life of the tire, i can go to discount and get all i need to do it..Just woundering if you ever did one ....Let me know....IM PISSED OFF...Thanks for your help....
Just saying this, I would patch a car tire because u have 4 tires and if one blows your ok. A bike tire, if a patch blows ur screwed. I would make sure 100% that patch will hold.

It's a personal choice. Every rider you talk to will have a different opinion on the matter. That being said, I've done several of my tires with internal patches. Never had one leak. You just have to know how to patch them the right way. Also depends a ton on where the hole is on the tire. I ran a tire/suspension/auto shop for a few years, so I've done a patch job or two. Haha.
@ Chad::: The nail is no where near the side wall and is well in the center of the tire.Going to buy a new one on saturday..I did alot working at discount for 10 years and i know they hold up..Thanks for the help and STG will be getting another 140.00 from me this week..
@ ray ::: I know I have been slackin lately..To many hours at work and not enough time in a day..Ill get there do alot more in Sep.-Oct. nicer weather to ride in...By the way. Talkin about doing another cart race in the near future ill let you know about when..If you want to go..
Yea im going to use it as a spare..Would not feel to comfortable rideing two up with the wife.If it was just me riding it all the time i would have no problem running it..I work for a family owned shop that makes specilty machined parts they use all over the world, like for pipe lines and gas lines and flow meters..In other words I run a CNC machine and make stainless steel fittings..
Well rained for two straight days here,we needed it.Best time for the rain nail in tire on wednesday and cant ride any way, picking up tire on saturday morning and by the time i get back home all the rain should be done..In a way i feel kinda lucky..
I've been having fun slipping and sliding in the rain. These Power One's are great in the dry, and pretty dang good in the rain. Just enough slipping to have fun, but enough grip in the wet to reign in the ol' girl if the fun level bumps up too high.
Seriously though, riding in the rain is one of the best ways to learn the limits of your bike. Throttle control, steering inputs, braking, everything has to be perfect. Great way to improve your riding skills.
