My tyre pump recently went, was using a double barrelled foot pump by Michelin to pump of my Michelins, it still seals find, but now doesnt pump any air in, so none is lost bit it doesnt add any, thankfully i found another pump in my room in time but just wondering what everyone is using?
Petrol station pump?(how often are they checked) Foot pump? Hand pump?
you dont know what sort of tool has abused the petrol station ones. plus at least you can use your own one at home when he tyres are cold and whenever you want.
I use a Michelin double barrel foot pump and I have an accurate Sealey digital tyre pressure gauge. I only ever use the garage forecourt air hoses if its an emergency. They are not always accurate and by the time I have rode there my tyres will have some heat in them so any reading is going to differ to my usual cold road pressures.
I use a mini compressor I used for 4x4 trips. Works a treat but my main concern is presure gauge. The ones at the petrol stations are not calibrated and I would not know where to find a decent one to carry as a portable.
i also use a mini compressor plugged into cig lighter on bike like most of the above
works great, compressors got a gauge on it but also have a decent seeley gauge
yea im thinking a footpump is the way forward, i had one for my bike, hand pumping and pedal ones are effort...its nice and simple with the ones with footrests and a handle you push down
x17 for bicycle pump WITH integrated gauge here. I also have a separate gauge for checking pressures.. be it routine check or track w/e.
Just takes a few pumps. Seems like it would take longer to setup the electric one pump and then put it away.
