The Photography Thread !

Okay. So we'll use this thread to post pics we've taken, and get input from others here. Also we can get tips on photoshop from the more seasoned users. Lets think of this as a tool to help our better photo skills.

Picture posting rules: If possible post the ISO, Aperture, etc. (pretty much all the info you can think of). Any thing done in photoshop should be listed as well.

When replying to a photo, make sure it's apparent which persons photo you are talking about.

Just a few. Shot with a Nikon D40 and an assortment of lenses. I use DXO Optics & Adobe to edit my photos. ISO are for the most part set to auto, unless I need to manually set it for certian lighting.

Various styles of photography, macro, landscape, etc.

18-55

18-55

55-200

55-500, absolute stupid zoom power. I was ontop of a mountain in west virginia when I took this.

Panorama shot with 18-55

Messing around with the landscape mode, emphsizes blues & greens.

Child setting, 18-55

ill save the others for another time

O.K. So I would have to say that at least 80% of all my pictures are indoor action shots....If anybody has any recommendations of how I can get better pics with less blurring that would be great. I do use a flash sometimes and sometimes I don't...my ISO is usually set pretty high(800-1200) due to being in places with extremely high ceilings and warehouse style lights.... This set of pics is about 2 months old..I have gotten them better now, but i would still take any help from somebody that knows a little more than i do .

These are dark but , you get the point

These were all random shots while at home... I like playing with the camera at night time....especially when a storm is near.

These were taken a few weeks ago in The Smokey mountains from my hotel balcony.....

This was right outside my house a few weeks ago also...This would have been an awesome shot if the thunder BOOM didn't scare the sh!t out of me and make me shake.... LMAO I still like the picture though... I stayed outside for like an hour during this storm trying to capture a lightning strike.

But these were all taken using an Olympus E-500 with a 40-150 lens.

We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture,"Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds." I suppose we all thought that one way or another.

-J. Robert Oppenheimer

Nobody else does INDOOR action shots??
Are these ok for a rookie with limited equipment or can I get better pictures with some settings tweaking?? Criticize me!!

I think I can do pretty good with the outside photos ( although theres always room for improvement) But my main focus is getting the best pictures I can indoors. As you can tell my main subject is cheerleaders...:icon_lol:.
