I liked the mod list minus the "fluff" stuff. But I have to admit that sometimes I voted for one bike over the other, however similar they looked, but because of the suspension upgrades, power commander, better battery, chain and sprocket changes plus speedo healer, pair system removal, full tune and upgraded air filter... none of which you can tell from a picture. It showed me that the person not only cared about looks, but also took the time to address some of the other details of their bike and really put time in it, vs just some bolt on things that make it look better.
This also helped me with some mods on my bike, as I don't always have tons of time to scroll through build threads, but if I see a mod I like in BOTM or BOTY, I can quickly check it out.
I also think "just adding a 6 item list" is the answer, because what I listed above is at 7 and that ONLY covered stuff I wouldn't be able to list that wouldn't be shown in pictures if I were to submit my own bike (minus the suspension as I haven't done that) however, If I was to make a mod list, some of my "cooler" mods, are ones you can see in some of the pictures, but they would be the ones more people would care about, ei my headlights, or Tripage Taillight and passenger pegs with powder coating. If someone did more mods - real mods, not fluff - they should be able to show that off.
PS... I did vote, but based on this, looks like I was in the majority on that point for some of the changes.
