I got my 2009 Green CBR600RR 3 years ago, only put 1600miles up until yesterday. I took a riding class before I got my license. Yesterday the weather finally turn cold here so I took it out for a ride, never saw it coming this way.
Just got out of my house, 2nd corner, I pull up to a two way stop sign and I stop first... No on coming traffic, I initiated my turn... about 1/4 way in, I saw the opposite car started to turn as well. I over reacted, make a tight turn into the right lane instead, after that it was all a blind... last thing I remember is the rear wheel sliding all over and I flew off the bike. Luckily, helmet, glove, jean, jacket... only suffering a knee cramp. and a few rash through my jean.
FFFFFF... after 3 year of keep my bike so new, I guess this is why my riding skill isn't sharp, otherwise this wouldn't happen right? :(. 2 Years ago, I decided to remove the self crash coverage from my bike, so my insurance won't cover this one. (another stupid mistake).
- Pretty much the whole left side, side fender, rear seat cover, front head light cover (the headlight feel out, but didn't break), clutch handle, side mirror, signals light.
If that wasn't bad enough, I loss my job about 3 months ago and now I just run a small business from home. I look at the replacement parts OEM cost and "sigh!" My big question is, where can I get parts for my bike cheap or maybe at a discount price? should I just take it to a shop or fix it on my own? If fix on my own, should I be worry that the frame is twisted or anything like that matter for a crash like this? 10-20mph max.
Thanks for any help.
PS: I have never attempt to pull a wheelie or anything like that, always ride safe. Now I am pissed, I rather I tried some stupid **** and crash my bike... then this!
