Data Link Connector Wire-How to hook it up and use to read the code?

hi, i was referred to get info from the data link connector beside the battery, and given i just read the Honda service manual i am wondering how to use the connector wire without having the special tool needed (mentioned in book to use the SCS service connector tool? where you plug in and then the light flashes to tell me whats the problem with the bike/sensors..

so anyone done this previously and how did you do it?

Trouble Codes

thanks

I know your anxious to get the bike fixed and all just do not be hasty
and get rushed up to fix it otherwise that might cause other problems
i got the consultation rolling as we speak and in 4 hours or so i will
be able to talk to my Honda mechanic bud and get a definate solution
