Who else rides to 5k before changing oil?

Mobil 1 4t racing 10w-40 full syn says that its good up to 5k miles..

"Mobil 1 benefits engine life and performance. In fact, the lubrication capability of Mobil 1 motorcycle oil helps maintain peak horsepower and acceleration throughout the life of your engine. And with Mobil 1 you can go the full 5,000 miles between oil changes."
from the site..

i couldnt afford an oil change anyways before, times are tougher than before but i didnt actually start noticing bad performance until that last 1k miles I just changed my oil with it today and its a beast again.

I also read that some people change the oil filter every 2 oil changes, who does that and how is the performance? im just wondering when other people change their oil and filter? makes sense to change filter with new oil js

I never go over 4k for oil or filter.

I do mine every 5000 miles... always have after all the break in oil changes when new, every 5k since the bike had 5000 miles on it. Still comes out pretty dang clean after 5k, and easy to remember when the next one is due as well

Every 10k or once a year, whichever comes first, amsoil 4t 10w-40 and amsoil filter. Over 40k miles on her and climbing.

I put all of my vehicles on a 5k rotella schedule. easy to remember, and limits how many bottles i have sitting in the garage.

dont have enough miles to be sure on the RR though, maybe the shifting will suffer by then..

manual says 8k BTW...

My bike is an 08 I bought it a couple months ago with 800 miles.. It has 2000 miles now, but I doubt the previous owner changed the oil.

Do you guys think I should change it soon, since it's had the same oil since 08... Or can I wait until maybe 3000 or 5000 miles?

i would def change it now. and again at 5k. if you do synthetic you can then go on 5k intervals and be fine (depending on riding style and other things of course)
