Finally starting this thread, been working and traveling alot.

Been wanting a bike ever since I knew what they were and now that i graduated from VT and got a real job i finally got one. Was really wanting an R6 but the CBRs were just so much more comfortable (i'm short)

Picked up an '08 600rr Graffiti with 350 miles in September 2010 for $6k, too good a deal to pass up, especially for my first bike. The only damage was a small scrape on the right side engine cover. What do you guys think?

The previous owner put on a Puig double bubble smoked windscreen and some smoked flush mounted front signals (don't know what kind).

Here it is when I got it home:

Like a noob, I dropped it in the parking lot from a stand still. Nothing major happened. Scraped bar end, right engine case (or maybe that is how it was when i got it, can't notice the difference), and snapped the front brake lever (justifies the fact that I already wanted shorties). Suprisingly, no damage to the fairings except some of the graffiti decals got torn up, doesn't look like any of the paint under the decals was damaged.

First thing I got was an Akra slip-on from another member for $400. Sounded like a good deal and it was in perfect condition, no discoloration. It sounds and looks so much better.

What really sucks is that I live in an apartment so all the work is done in the parking lot (pain in the a##). Install was real easy, bout 1hr.

After riding for a couple of months using 1 finger on the front brake (makes me kinda nervous), I ordered black shorties, with red adjusters, from www.rideitmoto.com (http://www.rideitmoto.com). Couldn't believe it took only 3 days from japan to virginia beach.

Really easy to install, wanted the ASVs but these only cost $80 and they are great quality.

Next up, the damn mud flap. Installed the TST smoked IT and plate bracket, here's the review thread http://www.600rr.net/vb/showthread.php?t=227848.

Turned out awesome and install was a breeze. Highly recommended! Was looking at the Tripage version but saved some dough with TST.

I soldered in some quick connects for the plate light to make it easier when I want to remove the tail in the future. Visibility is great for the plate and IT, even in the day time.

The light does touch the carbon tip of the exhaust. I'm not that worried cause it doesn't seem to get that hot, even after 3 hr rides. Any input?? Anyone else have problems with this?? I suppose brackets wouldn't be that hard to make, but i think it looks better this way.

Also removed the reflectors and passenger pegs.

In six months (winter) put about 1300 miles on it. I'm already addicted, ride any chance i get. Sucks it is stored outside, but i have a nice cover. It is kinda annoying working on it in the parking lot, gotta wait for nice weather to do anything. Moving to a new place when the lease is up, hopefully it has a garage or is on the ground floor so i can get it indoors when i need to.

Already cleaned (using gpi stands) and adjusted the chain at about 800mi and did an oil change at 500mi. Used a mobil1 filter with castrol power rs racing 4t 10w40, any opinions??

Also what is the best way to get those damn warning stickers off the swing arm?? I'm just gonna wait on the inspection sticker, next time i'm gonna tell them to put it on the triple tree/upper part of the fork. The other stickers (on the chain guard) are for parking at work, can't do anything about that.

It's coming together nicely. I have the same bike which I purchased a few weeks ago. Just got a Leo Vince which needs to go on.
