Just got back from a gas station to pick up some supplies for tonight, and the cute chick behind the counter asked me if some random dude was walking around outside the store. I replied to her that yeah, he's still outside. She went on to describe how this guy has been walking around the store, for a couple hours now, and would occasionally come inside and light a cigarette using one of the lighters at the counter. She mentioned that she called the police non-emergency number, and they would be sending an officer out (this was like 20 minutes prior).

I told her I would hang around till they got there, so I went outside, and as the guy walked by I started some idle chit-chat with him. His name was Randy, former military, and he used to live on a farm. He asked me for a cigarette for which I obliged and gave him one, and let him use my lighter to lite it. He then sat down at the edge of the sidewalk next to the store, and I joined him. During our conversation he mentioned that he once had a sportbike (I forget the model, but it was a Kawasaki).

The overall sense I got from him was that he appeared to be rational, and not all looped out on drugs or alchohol. His age I would estimate to be 45 to 55. He appeared to possibly be homeless as in recently kicked out from where ever he used to live(or maybe released from jail)... He had nothing but the clothes on his back.

While sitting there, I asked if he wanted something to eat, but he declined and asked if instead he could get a beer. I chuckled and said, no, you cant be cracking a beer out here, so I tossed him my cigarettes and went back inside the store to get him a lighter. I explained to the clerk my observations, and went back outside. He was still sitting there, and I sat back down with him. We chatted some more, and by this time I'm thinking to myself where the fvk are the cops....

At this point it has been about an 40 to 50 minutes since the clerk first called the police, and I'm growing impatient. I asked Randy again if he would like something to eat, and this time he agreed. I went back into the store and bought my favorite sandwich, one of those Itialian spicey ones, and explained to the clerk that I was heading out. She seemed a little more comfortable. So I went back out, and handed Randy the sandwich, said goodbye's and to take care, and started gearing up. While I was putting on my helmet I watched Randy try to open the package that the sandwich was in, and he was having a hell of a time.

Anyways... Take care Randy, life can really suck at times, but it can get better, dont do anything stupid!

Peace...

So I'm out for a cruise today first in line at a stop light on a 4 lane highway, when one of those dodge charger police units pulls up next to me on the right. I glance over, and he's looking right at me. I'm quickly trying to recount the past 15 minutes of my ride, when all of a sudden he starts revving his engine.... I'm thinking what the fvk, this dude wants to race... I then turn and nod my head at the road in front of us and turn back to look at him, and he revs his engine again. Oh its on now... I rev my engine, and get ready for the light to turn green.

Sure enough he takes off pretty damn fast, I took off normally (which is kinda fast anyway) but as I saw him pulling away, I twisted the throttle and gunned it. I caught up to him, and then just cruised at the 50mph speed limit... LOL He gave me a thumbs up and we went our merry way... FUN! :cruising:

I was in my car lastnight driving along a multi-lane highway, coming up (and about to pass) to a semi-truck/trailer who was driving in the center lane. Wish he was in the far right lane, but thankfully, I was in my car. I was approaching this truck in the left lane, traffic was very light at the time (late evening/early morning).

Just about when I'm up to the rear bumper of his trailer I hear a subdued "pop" noise and start to see chunks of rubber/debris flying off of one of the wheels on the left side of the trailer. It startled me, but luckily none of the large pieces of "shrapnel" impacted my car/windshield. I don't know if the truck was running retread tires or what, but the temps were pretty cool at night so I'm guessing he just had some old/worn tires that were very worn out. Didn't recall seeing a load on top of his trailer either (was a flatbed style trailer).

I'm sure if I was on the CBR it could have been really ugly if one of the tire chunks smacked me while on the bike.

I could see something like that causing serious injury - just one of those "lightbulb" moments that makes you think while out on public streets.

Bleh, end of story.

Anyone in here been hit by tire "shrapnel" while on their bike ? Or had a motorist up ahead "kick up" a piece of retread laying on the road and fling it back at you or your bike?

July

Milwaukee County district attorney's office decided this week not to file criminal charges against a Wauwatosa woman for her involvement in a 2009 car accident that killed a Milwaukee motorcyclist.
The car accident occurred on the morning of July 2, 2009 when Jane Carter, 66, of Milwaukee, struck the motorcycle of Wauwatosa motorcyclist, 52-year-old Jim Barbarini. According to police and news reports, Carter was driving her Toyota Matrix when she turned the corner and struck the motorcycle of Bararini. As a result, Barbarini broadsided the vehicle and was violently thrown from his bike. Bararini was wearing a novelty helmet with spikes at the time of the crash but it offered little to no protection during the impact. The crash occurred near N. Mayfair Road and W. Center Street.
According to police, Carter was on her way home from a tennis game with her friends just before the fatal car accident occurred. Officers on the scene saw no sign that Carter was impaired and did not administer a field sobriety test. After the crash, Carter told police that she had taken a prescription painkiller 12 hours prior to the crash and police initiated a blood test. The blood test revealed that Carter had taken Ambien, a prescription sleep aid, not 12 hours prior but 60 to 90 minutes prior to the crash.
Makers of the drug suggest that people who have taken the drug to stay in bed for seven to eight hours after taking the pill. One reported side effect is so-called sleep-driving in some people. For this reason, the Milwaukee County district attorney's office spent the last 11 months investigating this case to determine if there was any additional evidence to support that she was impaired while driving. They determined she was not.
Despite not being charged with any criminal charges, Carter still faces a fine of $1,311 for failing to yield to a stop sign causing death.
Ah, those were the days.

I'm trying to complete my collection but there's a couple movies I can't remember the name of. So, I'm hoping you guys can help.

1st movie:
Plot--I can only remember bits and pieces but basically it was a guy who sent into isolation to train with 7 masters to learn each of their unique fighting style in preparation to fight the main overlord. Iron Palm, long Bo,...I can't remember the others but one particular fighting style/training I do remember is with a mannequin that rolled out marbles if you hit the correct pressure points. Anyone know which Kung Fu movie I'm talking about?

2nd movie:
Plot - Again, only bits and pieces...all I can remember is the main character carried a bamboo umbrella and used this as his weapon. He was a badass. Also, not 100% sure on this but I think he also had to fight several enemies who each possessed different fighting styles. And one particular enemy that stood out was a Ninja who used the Crab-style technique. Anyone know which Kung Fu movie I'm talking about?

If history has taught us anything, it’s that anything is possible, even if your time here on this planet is up.

You’ve probably heard of this piece of news by now and for what it’s worth, it’s still a little too hard to believe. If you haven’t heard of it, then please, by all means, keep on reading.

David Morales Colon, a 22-year old Puerto Rican, was gunned down last week and, while we feel bad for the family he left behind, we can’t help but be amazed on how Colon’s family decided to send-off their beloved David.
Go to the funeral service for David and you’re bound to get the shock of your life. Not only is there no casket, or urn for that matter, but as soon as you walk in the funeral home, you’ll be greeted by the sight of David himself dressed in a long-sleeved shirt, jeans, a hat, and a pair of sunglasses. And, oh yeah, he’s riding a Honda CBR600 F4. The only thing is, David’s actually dead.

If you think that is a little strange then you are absolutely right, but apparently the motorcycle was a gift to David from his uncle and his family delivered it personally to the funeral home.
Incidentally, the funeral home where David is "riding" is also the same funeral home that prepared Ángel Luis "Pedrito" Pantojas Medina, a man that was shot 11 times. This man made a very special request before passing; he requested that his wake be held in his own home while wearing his favorite clothes. That is not the strange part. He also wanted to attend the wake standing up. This feat was accomplished b ythe funeral home employees by tying the corpse at the waist, torso, and head. Eerie.

Fast cars, like corvettes, mustangs, camaros, chargers, etc... All the standard "fast cars" of the road (yeah yeah yeah, there's a TON of other "fast" cars out there ... we all know this ... and those cars are included in the query as well)

Background info: I went on a ride with a friend and 2 people he knew. A guy with a 2009 yellow r1 had his bike fall on mine when i parked. I was the only one around so it looked bad, but i didn't hit his bike. He parked down hill, in neautral, on asphault in 100 degree weather. Bad combination

-So the good news:
My insurance company looked at it and the police report, and sent the r1 owner a letter saying they arn't paying for it. He didn't properly secure his bike.

-The better news:
My insurance agent filed a claim against the r1's insurance company for damages done to my bike.
Oh yeah :)

only problem is, my bike was damaged before, so idk if theres any clear damage done to my bike that his did.

Either way, im not going to jail, rates arn't going up. And the r1 owner is screwed.

:cruising: Time to ride.

Thank you guys for telling why NOT to sell the bike. I'm obssessed with the thing now.

My friend gives me a call and asked if i would run him to the store for beer. Well i cant but my roomate will. They get back and my roomate goes crazy. (i like my women samll, he likes they curvy) He was talking about her huge truck. He then went on to talk about how she can drive a stick. After he took another big lung full of air he went on to say she has a 600. He then moved to the fact that she was so dang hot that he thought she was hot for me. He nevers likes the women i do. So the faqct that he was sayin that was sweet.

The funny thing is is that the hole time he was sayin all this it only took about 1 minute. I know it doesnt sound much on here but he used the most detail i have ever herd. If he would have slowed down he could have talked about her for at least 30 minutes.

When i asked him wtf he said he forgot he drank a pot of coffee so he drank another one then remembered that he just drank one. This kid went from i have to call into work if i dont get better tonight to crazy in minutes
