I went into work today to pull my 24 duty and I found out one of our Staff Sergeants past away yesterday from a bike accident yesterday afternoon on his way into post. Appearantly he lost control of his motorcyle and hit a tree. Right now no one really knows what happened, whether he was going too fast or if something ran across him being it was the back roads. He was coming from home, so Im sure he was familiar with the road. He was only 33 yrs old and leaves a wife with 2 boys and 1 daughter behind. The trooper came across his motorcycle and found him dead on the scene and investigation is speculating that he was alive for 2 hours before he passed away. But being that it was the back roads and the whole post had a 4 day weekend there wasnt much traffic. Most everyone is at his house right now trying to help their family cope and I wish I was there for support too. Real nice guy too. He stood about 6'2-3 280 lbs of muscle, looked intimidating, but real humble and humorous. He will be missed, specially right before we deploy.

im a newbie here at RR.net but i frequently browse the forums to learn more about this 'toy'. i wanted to share my story because im still in shock.

i lost my cousin in law today. the man was so different yet he walked in our family and earned our love. you will forever be in our thoughts and prayers greg. love you cuz. it will not be the same without you.

he was leaving his house to go to a bbq. lost control of his bike (07 cbr1000rr) a block up the street, hit a parked car, and flew off. bike landed behind a van and he landed in front of the van. bike is totalled. he unfortunately died of his injuries.

no one truly knows the story of how it all went down except for him, and no we will never know how and why this occured. unfortunately he was only wearing his half helmet which didnt do much to protect his head. helmet took the force, cracked, and the impact went right through. massive brain damage and internal bleeding everywhere. doctors say he must have died pretty much instantly from the impact. he was wearing his safety gear, except the wrong helmet :banghead:

with that said, i hope everyone is careful when they jump on those 2 weeks. this accident occurred literally a block away from his house. he was just walkin out to enjoy a cruise to a bbq. none of us know when our true calling out. ride safe.

Ok before i start do you remember the story about a friend driving a bike and crashing and paying for all repairs... there is the link just in case you forgot http://www.600rr.net/vb/showthread.p...=mainland_matt

ok well after she was all back together.... new paint...new seats, mirrors, exhaust, pegs, windscreen, lots and lots of powder coating and alot more ....
My friend was getting his bike legs back under his belt while i was doing a 2 week road trip with the girlfriend...

About 2000kms later (4850km in bike total) I was making my way down a local residential area (50km/hr) I was doing the typical 60km/hr which i normally do plus the fact that it was 38 degrees celsius I kinda waved the putting all my gear on to make a small trip to pick up a tool i had lent to my mother...

A woman pulled out behind a parked car on my left, she turned left raced a truck that was coming towards me to merge... the only problem is i was in the lane she decided to use as a "corner cut and speed up lane"... so i see her pull out through the glass of the parked car on the side so I tried to slow down that splt second and move closer to the yellow line, hoping she seen me and stop..

Nope she was still looking right and pulling put to the left... the last thing i remember before the crash is looking for her eyes and seeing the left side of her head with the red blackberry up to her ear... ****

After I relized is was too late to do anything I jumped up as she hit my bike and proceded to floor it and drag my bike another 30 feet up the road before stopping...

Note the windshield where my head hit...

what a sad sad day......to see my bike under a car with my lights still on and the coolant running out all mangled up..... :( I ended up with no more then a few small cuts and alot of pulled and really sore muscles, no broken bones at all... A healthy reminder about driving with out gear (very seldom thing)

oh and my friend that smashed my bike up the first time (and my best friend/family now) was about 2 car lengths behind me to see and help me with the whole thing
He was pulling his bike up the driveway, and he went to put his kickstand down on his Sv650, and it went into a hole... Without him realizing it, he stepped off his bike, and it fell ontop of him.. I ran outside to pick it up off him, he shook it off and walked inside.. But as we were sitting there talking, he said "Hm, I think I need stiches" I asked him if it was really that serious... He didnt know, so he pulled his pant leg up "He didnt feel anything" and there was an 8 inch gash, probably an inch wide going down his calf.. This was about 2 months ago.

He's bed ridden right now, and in very bad shape, prayers would be appreciated...

Riding around Friday night by myself. Met up with a friend and was going back to the house to chill out for the night. I revved my bike up for shits and giggles, and when the light turned green, I let off the throttle and started to go, little did I know the throttle got stuck open and threw me back, I clutched it back down and when the front wheel landed my fingers slipped off the clutch lever and the bike 12'ed on me. I rode it and kept as much control of it as I could, and finally I had to ditch it to protect myself. I have a bruised elbow and minor road rash. As for the bike, I snapped the right throttle handle bar, scuffed the rear tail and exhaust and as you can imagine scuffed the right fairings. No broke plastics, thank goodness. I count myself lucky though. Time for a rebuild, new sprocket/chain conversion, levers and exhaust (two brothers maybe this time around) and a nice fresh Metallic Black paint job! I am sad what happened to the bike, but after seeing my damages, it makes me feel better that I am not hurt, and my bike isn't a loss.

I needed to go get pan from my moms house and while i was there i was getting the ingredients off the comp so i could stop and buy them.. While im writing down what i need my mom slips out the front door and was going some where with her truck. The next thing i know she comes in and yells at me for parking behind her and the first this i thought was my bike. Well i was right.. She backed up into my bike. She didn't knock it over thank god bud she ended up cracking my new front tire hugger that i got with the new set of fairings from cbrfairings. I've had such bad luck with the new fairings. So FML. gotta get a new hugger now. Hopefully thats all the damage it taken..hopefully :banghead:

Well I finally got into my first crash and I must say it was quite eye opening. I went out riding with a friend for the first time in a while (few months). We were cursing around when we hit some traffic. We were steadily splitting through lanes. I got a little too eager to pass this Honda Element when the driver broke suddenly and I clipped his right tail light as I was about to cross over to the other lane.

Luckily I hit a sweet spot on my fairings and my bike took the brunt of the damage. I broke the guys tail light and ripped the left side of my bike off but luckily didn't fall off and was able to ride through it and pull over on a side street.

I didn't feel too rusty getting back on the bike but in hind sight I was too close to the guy and I should ride a lot safer. I'm sad about the bike but I have to keep reminding myself it could have been a lot worse. I only got a few minor bruises on my leg.

Thanks for letting me vent haha.

:iamwith:

Heres a pic of the damage:
