I just ordered a new set of sprockets and a red EK chain to have ready for when my current sprockets wear out. Since the red chain comes with a silver master link can I use the red side plate from a removed link instead?

Does this quick shifter work with a PC3??

i encounted a problem when trying to install the pegs as signal lights. the pegs all work. i even took the oem connector so it could be plug an play but i can't get the lights to turn on. i hook them up to the batter direct and they work but when i put them on the signal part they dont work at all. i know the wires are good cuz i pluged in the oem lighs on and they blink but the pegs wont blink please help.

*sidenote* i have nothing bad to say about the led they are beautiful and finely crafted*

Vortex Rearset - Shifting

Hello everyone,

I just installed the vortex rearset but when i took her out for a test the shifting was not as smooth as the stock shifter.

Basically, i installed based upon the instructions on the installation manual. Unlike the stock shifter that uses the small circular dot as reference point for the shift knuckle, the vortex manual simply says to install the knuckle like the picture shown on the manual. I pretty much guessed and eyeballed as to where to slide in the vortex shift knuckle.

As for now, it shifts from 1st to 6th gear no problem. My only concern is that the shifting pattern is not as smooth as the stock one. For example, there was one occasion where I had to shift the lever twice to get it to go to the next gear.

Should I reposition the shift knuckle?
Should I play around with the shift rod?
Anything I can do to make it better.

New camera mount

Gotta love boredom.

The new piece the camera bolts to was a bitch. Been a while since I did anything on my mill. ******* plastic.

The camera can also be rotated 180* to get a forward shot similar to the camera that MotoGP has on Lorenzo's bike. I might make a video to test that out tomorrow.

Just a short video around my block.

Note: Battery is only strong enough to turn the lights, meter, and fuel pump on. Bump start at 2mph FTW. :drunk:

help placing ballasts with HID install

I ordered some HID lights off ebay and they ballasts are too big to fit in the areas where other people placed them on these forums. If anyone has any ideas that would be great. I tired to put them on the frame of the bike where the clutch cable ran.

Proton Flushmounts Question

Hey all,

I recently installed proton flushmounts on my 08 RR. My rear turn signals are still regular bulbs (not LEDs). I know that this setup caused the 'fast blink' on my bike however I recently had both my rear bulbs burn out and now it looks like my front flushmounts aren't working correctly.

They work fine as a running light, however as soon as I signal right or left, they just turn off.. no green blinking indicator on the dash or anything. Could this be because there are no rear bulbs installed yet? I'm waiting on the replacements to come in and just noticed this tonight.

Has anyone tried using the CustomLED relay? I'm hoping I didn't short anything out or melt any wires..

header wrap question

anybody have their headers wrapped and can tell me how many feet of wrap i need for a full wrap (from manifold to the can)? I wanna protect my motofan fairings and header wrap is cheaper than reflective tape/blanket and i'd rather not use hvac tape cuz it's only rated up to 250 F and seems to me more like a band-aid fix anyway. Also I'm not worried about the cons of wrapping headers I know they hold in moisture Etc. I just don't wanna buy more than i need.

moded it myself give some feedback what you guys think..its a m4 for a 08 yamaha r6..its not slotted inside the pipe so its really really loud.

My Personal 07 Pearl White Journal

Hi everyone,

I'm a new rider (started last year) and just wanted to start a thread to use as a journal for everything that has to do with my bike.

I bought my bike thinking I would ride it ALL THE TIME, however, shortly after buying her, I got into a serious relationship. Although my gf takes up a lot of my time I still think about my bike (my other gf) all the time. I wish I had more time and money to throw into my bike, but life has priorities.

Don't expect anything great in here. It will be a very slow process for me.

Without further ado, here she is:

2007 CBR600RR Pearl White - Bought in May of 2009 from a private seller with 3200 miles on it. Since then I have only put 800 miles on her. The above 2 pictures were taken by the original owner before she was shipped to me.

She came with a 2 brothers slip on, stomp grip tank pads, dark smoke puig windscreen, integrated tail light, tripage fender eliminator with LEDs on the hugger, d.i.d 520 chain and -1 in the front, and a solo seat cowl

On May 29th, 2009, a day before my birthday, she arrived at my friend's house. I left her at my friend's house because he lives in a very nice neighborhood.

When the shipping company called me I was FULL of excitement. However, they told me that they overshot the delivery street and they had to drop her off 3 blocks away. I thought, hey, no big deal, I'll ride her over. I grabbed my helmet, jacket, and gloves and ran 3 blocks down the street.

It was pouring rain. After she came off the truck and signed off, the shipping men left me and I just stood there ... COMPLETELY afraid of the bike. I mounted her and I felt so much anxiety and fear. PLUS it was raining. I had taken the MSF course only a month prior but it was NOTHING to prepare me for a 600cc bike.

What did I end up doing? I put the keys in my pocket, put on my helmet, and WALKED the bike in neutral all the way to his house. Part of the way was uphill. I was so miserable and felt so embarrassed. People probably thought I ran out of gas or something. My arms and wrists were so sore after I got her to the house.

I dropped her off and went back to work. After work I came back to check on her and the WORST thing happened. she was on her side. I do not know how or why, but I was SO mad. she ended up getting 2 scratches on her side. I was so mad at myself for getting a scratch on her without even RIDING her yet. It took me a week to get over that.

Finally, a week later, I grew the balls to wake up at 5AM on a weekend so I can take her to a big parking lot to practice. I did this a few times and slowly became a little bit more comfortable. I was petrified my first time out. My main issue was how big she felt and how I wasn't comfortable with shifting (drove an automatic car all my life).

I got the Dainese Rapture jacket. I really like it because I don't see anybody else with it at all. I've only seen 1 other person with it on, but it was the red and white color. Great jacket.

Removing FE Kit

Im removing the FE kit that came on my bike when i bought it. I think its that Bikelightz Crap with the LED strip.

Anyway..I've basicly just resorted going back to a stock rear license plate mount, and Rizoma Turn signals all the way around.

Im just mocking things up today, and I am wondering if anyone knows, or has pics, of can take pics of how the rear lights wiring routes to the fuse/battery area. If you can direct me to a source online too, that's fine.

As the bike was not stock, I have no reference to go off of from dissassembly, and I can't seem to source a legit harness routing diagram online.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

My 07's long overdue makeover..

So I lowsided at jennings back in Jan. of 09 (first trackday) and have been putting off fixing my bike since I got addicted to the track & figured I'd go down again (4 trackdays later & still have not :banger:). Being an engineering college student I have very little time and money so summer time was the only time to do it.

First off I would like to thank bcc for the fixing fairings how to and rsp919 for the carbon overlaying how to. both of these inspired me towards my project (and saved me $$$)

FINALLY this summer I decided to get to work!
I was able to fix all of my fairings except for the upper which I got from a member here cracked in 2 but mad cheap & a solo set off the bay

after some bodywork

decided to "reinforce" all of my plastic welds..

Haven't had front blinkers on my bike since I got it so I figured this would be a good time to say goodbye to the holes

put masking tape on the outside & lay some fiberglass on the inside

now a little filler & were golden
