Just wanted to post this since I am getting alot of request for this bracket I made from a stock part. Here is the link to Tucker Rocky's catalog page 179 it is at the bottom of the page on the on the right, part # 20-0208 $3.95. You should be able to get any dealer in the US to order this for you. http://www.powersportrider.com/cgi-bin/zcatjpg
Here are the pictures of what it looks like after drilling and painting.
Here is the Template to drill from Be sure to measure everything twice, drill once
Here is the under side pic of it mounted to the Brake light assy.
And here is the final view of it all together. If you have questions do not hesitate to ask.
Yes I saw that, but go look at the total for one, it is like $12 shipped. And your dealer can order it for you since they order from Tucker Rocky anyway. Half of the stuff in a local motorcycle dealership comes from them.
I love this look. I went down to the dealership to order the bracket and lights, but they had all the parts in stock. I looked at the bike and this may sound pretty stupid, but I gotta cut the existing license plate holder away, right?
tapntx I couldn't find anywhere whether you said if you bent the plate to that angle, or if it came that way. Online, it doesn't look like they come pre-bent at all? Or am I not looking at it right??
Yes they are LED, and I got those from Cyclegear. They are also sold under the Bikemaster name and the Shock name, these were Motrax, and exclusive for Cyclegear in the US.
Sure you could, they just bolt on where the existing ones were. I had used this type before on MY 06 CBR 1000RR and liked how bright they were and relatively small.
I went to ExImport and they have the same bracket. they called it Registration holder plate or something...for $9.99...I told them I will be back cuz I forgot to bring the Vasoline with me.
Well thanks for the idea TAPnTX. I got mine installed yesterday. All I have is this s***y camera phone pic right now. Looks great until I find a better aftermarket option, which will probably be the 03-06 taillight integrator after I get the Akrapovic.
Thought I would bring this to the top again since 07-12 are basically the same bike. I see some really crappy FE's out there and this is pretty simple and very low cost.
Here is what I did on my 06 CBR1000RR I think the first gen 600rr is about the same setup. I riveted it to the Plastic tail piece. I did not worry with the Plate light since I rarely ever ride at night. I made it this way so I could display my States inspection Sticker on the back.
I found this from my 06 600rr, should be just like the 03/04. I used an integrated Tail light for the signals.
Cost $4
I have used this same $4 piece of Aluminum for all kinds of bikes to make Fender Eliminators.
