Chain Oil?
Tried a search, could not find anything.... is it ok that I use MARINE 80W-90 gear oil on my chain? I have heard that it is ok to use gear oil 80-90; but this one says MARINE so I'm not sure as to what the difference is. It also came in a easier bottle to apply it to the chain compared to what gear oil normally comes in. I am at school with no bike shop around and dont feel like waiting for stuff ordered from online. Purchased it yesterday at walmart and felt the viscosity and its pretty thick and STINKS lol
I would not. You can go to any auto parts store and they will sell chain lube for cheap, no need to buy online. Hell, I went to home depot and they carried it too the other day. Just Be careful with other grease and specifically made lubricants, there very well may be chemicals that can ruin the o-rings on your chain. Not to say it absolutely will not work, but they do have very specific lubricants for pretty much everything. Some may be too think to even reach the rollers rendering it useless. Something is better than nothing, BUT it's worth doing it right.

The stuff I use is really sticky so its stays on for longer than just regular old oil. Its Maxima chain wax its not too expensive and the can lasts for a good while.
