Is it a bad idea to replace only the chain? I want stock gearing and the teeth on my sprocket look okay?
I want a new chain (12k miles, didn't lube the old one often enough) and was just wondering if ordering a chain by itself was a bad idea.

There's nothing wrong with that at all. Those OEM sprockets will last a long, long time.

It is best to replace chain and sprockets as they wear together...
