alright iv been doing wheellies for about a month and a half now. at first i could never get it up in second so i only do them in first where i am now hitting balnce point. I still cant get more then mybe a two inch wheelie in second gear rolling at 30 and throttling the s*** out of the bike! i want to learn stand ups now but dont know if its wise to do in 1st gear?? if someone can give me a description on how to get my body position ready, and also if i should try them in second gear or stay in first even though i cant get a second gear wheelie. thx guys.
Its very difficult if not impossible for some to power it up in 2nd so learn to clutch it up. Go about 42mph and hold in the clutch, give it full throttle and let go.of the clutch and it will come right up. You could try it with standing on the passenger pegs

It helps to move back as far as you can on the seat. And also you can load the front with weight before you pop the clutch kinda bounce it see if that helps

yea man i dont know how to power up i only clutch but cant get it up in second for ****!
Not sure why you can't get it up in second even with the different gearing? Maybe not enough throttle or your not letting the clutch go fast enough. I wouldn't advise pulling up on the bars either

ive never had a problem getting it up in second. with -1 +3 i can get it up in 4th, but am going way to fast by then. second gear on stock gearing is going to take quite a bit of throttle to get it up at 30 though

Maybe you need more practice? I'm no expert by any means but the two problems newbs seem to have are not enough throttle and not a quick enough clutch pop/release. The whole clutch/throttle movement has to be spot too.
well i have -1 +2 gearing but i mean im getting my first gear wheelies easy at balance point but second i can only get about a 4 inch to 6 inch wheelie and thats at 30 mph with about 8+ rpms!! my main question is should i just start stand up wheelies in 1st gear or keep trying for secon gear sit down wheelies until i can get them and move up to stand up wheelies?? thanks for your help guys!
you should learn bp in first gear. clutching it up. once your comfortable with that then go to second. Staggered standups.
To clarify, when I said staggered standups I meant practice staggered in 1st to start out. it's safer then learning sit downs first because you can get away from the bike quicker if anything were to happen.
Keep practicing 1st gear until comfortable with 2nd. There is no reason you cant get the bike up on your sprocket set up. I had the same set up as you and looped my bike because of the snappy throttle and changed my front sprocket back to stock. I can clutch up 2nd easy with just +2 in the rear. Give more throttle and hug your rear brake.
