ok I got a couple questions, I'm looking into building my own ar-15, not to save money or anything just want to try my hand at it. My first question is has anyone used Del-ton ar15 kits, I've searched and decided thats the company im going to go with and if anyone one has used them what is your experience? 2nd I know I have to buy a lower receiver but do I also have to buy a lower receiver parts kit? It looks like the parts kit includes everything except the actual lower receiver but I cant find anything to give me a definite answer...

Del-ton is low end stuff. Go with better stuff. Noveske, Stag Arms, LMT, Daniel Defense, to name a few.
You will need to buy a lower, yes. You can buy a striped lower and then buy a lower parts kit. You will also need an armor to assemble the barrel and upper. The lower kit is pretty straight forward but if you haven't felt with assembly before I'd have an armor do it for you. Maybe see if you can watch and learn.
Getting the head space set correctly is vital and should only be performed by an armor.

It all comes down to what your use of the rifle will be. If you're plinking cans twice a year, then yes, a Del-Ton/Bushwhacker/etc. lower tier brands will work just fine for that purpose. If you're shooting competitively or work in law enforcement, where reliability is paramount, then brands like Noveske/Daniel Defense/LMT can't be beat.

Highly discourage you getting a 45. Ammo is ridiculous expensive low capacity mags. I have had 4 smith and Wesson m&PS 2 9mm 2 40 Cal amazing guns same as glock and xdm just different looking design but all three operate similarly.

well really if you do your part 9mm will get the job done. Its all about how you train. I try to train once a week and am always visualizing the vitals of other ppl, I look and see where I would have to place a round to stop the threat and with good ammo like lawman you get plenty of expansion and penetration, so aim for the heart, brain stem or pelvic area and if your shot is placed well your job is done hopefully(unless there high on drugs) but if you shatter there pelvic floor you stop there mobility so its not always about caliber but more so about placement of your rounds. If your going to carry its your responsiblity to be ready and able and willing to get the job done.

This is probably one of the best firearms related post I've seen on any forums. Train often, train hard and know that anything short of a mortar round won't stop an enemy dead in his tracks. There is no magic bullet and not all bullets work as they should, even if you put them where they belong.

Center mass is always target #1, but isn't necessarily guaranteed to stop them instantly - even if they are "dead," sometimes those on drugs or those who are just built like oxes, can still keep fighting for a long time before they expire.
Also, a properly placed hip shot can do tons of damage! Hits to the Iliac vein, femoral artery or the nerve that runs through that region will more or less cause their leg to turn into dead weight, cause massive bleeding and make a lot of work for the doctors who stitch them up. All three of them are located within an inch of each other so it's a good chance you'll get all three. Think of it this way, how much of your mobility is limited when you have a sore hip. Now think of what it'd be like with a shattered hip and pelvis!

hitting a vital organ will stop a target faster then anything else. LE / Military is trained to shoot for center mass for a reason. Same goes for hunting, aim for the heart.
have fired 400 rounds of 10 & 500+ rounds of 22 LR w/the kimber conversion kit (will take pics of kit & my s&w model 41 target pistol next time the camera is out of the bag)
