Yo guys im sorry if this has been posted but I cant find it through the search or anything so I must ask...
I have the akrapovic slip on with the stock headers and I want to upgrade to the akrapovic headers over the winter to compliment their slip on.
HOWEVER, I have heard that most aftermarket headers come down too close to the oil filter so you need to remove them every time you change the oil?????? R U KIDDING ME???? Please tell me the akra headers aren't like this. If so, they can keep them.
Thanks for the feedback but Yea I know a few people with the arrow headers and many people on here seem to do the arrow/akra setup but I would reallllly like to do the full akra. If anyone has a full akra system please leave some feedback.
Haha. Yes just the slip on broke me for 2 weeks. So worth it, not obnoxiously loud just a very nice tone especially at 10k and above. And to be completely serious I never thought of calling akra. Wow. I'll do that tomorrow

Akra race full exhaust isn't compatible with their slip on system. Different diameters on them. If you want a full Akra, you're going to have to buy a full exhaust.
I mean if you really wanted to, you could buy from Akra the individual header pieces, springs, mid pipe and back inlet to the slip-on. But at that point your probably in it for more than a full system would cost.

Yeah I hear you. What about the arrow headers I know they fit slip ons do you think it would be worth it to pair them with the akra? I love the sound of just the slip on now but wouldn't mind a little deeper and throatier.
I mean if they really wouldn't change the sound much from stock I don't think it's worth it but seeing as they get rid of the cat it must be different IMO. I've heard of ppl guttin their cat but that seems to be a bad idea to me for some reason.

People do it for the power gains. Typically trying to gain some top end for track usage. If your motivation is sound, I'd spend the money elsewhere.
Thanks for the feedback guys and I will deff PM him. So as far as what you guys just said, where else would I spend money for sound besides on headers? And plz don't get the wrong impression of me, I am in no way shape or form a guy that's just tryin to have a loud bike that rides around town in 1st gear all day. My bike lives in the mtns only time it sees town is for gas. Just want a little deeper a little throatier.
1. weight.... Arrow full system about 1/2 the weight of the stock syst (20/40lbs)
2. Reduced junk and moving parts (exh. valve and servo motor).
3. cleaner and simpler (cat on stock looks like a full colostomy bag).
Sound? i keep the dB killer in mine, i am like you, in that i ride only in the country.....but i do not want to po the ranchers so i keep it quiet.....
