Wasn't me, this came across our "mishap report" that we get frequently in the military.
At 6:30 p.m. in North Carolina, about 15 miles from base, an E-3 was riding his motorcycle in traffic. He had taken the basic rider course nine months earlier. He was making full use of his new-found experience by doing a wheelie in the left lane at 65 miles per hour, all the better to amuse/excite/astonish the surrounding motorists in his section of traffic.
Maybe some were duly impressed, thinking how brave and skillful he was. If so, that impression abruptly ended when the E-3 slammed into the back of a ford truck that was stopped while the driver waited to make a left turn.
The E-3 suffered what mishap reports always refer to as "multiple traumatic injuries" to bones, nerves, muscles, tendons, ligaments, his spinal cord and brain. He spent 24 days in a hospital.
My section commander rode out to a range when we were hauled out to go shooting...just a helmet as they do, they all wear their uniform but just a helmet riding around the local towns, he put on a serious pace down these winding country lanes to the range....he didnt crash but its all of them like that, our other corporal in the platoon was mature though, mine was one of those, ride it till it breaks people
i'd rather be like the other corporal and have a nice bike, and live to ride
then again i joined the infantry at 17, how mature was THAT decision LOL
