Went down for the first time

Feeling aggressive I guess, came off a stop sign to a right turn, gave it too much gas and i think the cold (40 deg) tires on some crosswalk paint and the back end went out. Don't remember hitting the ground, I must have greeted it with my head.

Where are some good places to begin looking to replace these parts?

Thanks man. My helmet and jacket did their jobs pretty well. Got a bit of road rash on my hip where the jacked ended, swollen elbow, minor concussion, and a gash on my knee (not sure what from). Put a dent in my evening for sure.

It could have been worse! Glad you're okay. As for the replacement parts I'm sure you could find a few on eBay.

Glad your doing alright man... Just had a very similar accident myself, cold tyres, corner, too much gas... It certinaly does put a damper on things but at least your alright and you should be able to pick up some replacment parts fairly easy as the red and black is fairly common.

I do notice how the frame sliders seem to have diverted the damage from the front fairings to the rear seat cowl, which is different to mine as I hadn't got around to installing my sliders yet and my rear seat cowl is unscratched yet my front fairings copped it in what seems like a very similar crash. Just thought it was interesting to note.

Chin up mate :)

Damn dude, glad to see you made it out ok though.

On the bright side, now you have an excuse to get those nice rear sets and leavers you have been eyeing off for so long - if you haven't... well now you can..

If I were you, I would check out some of the site fav's first like Motomummy etc. Ebay also has some great deals if you are willing to dig around.

so much for the frame sliders. Were those damages to the left fairing (around the slider) there before the damage or after?

glad you're ok.

I did this exact same thing last night.

Except no crosswalk paint. Don't know if I stopped in water or oil or what, but i started turning right and the back end just went light and spun out from under me. i fell to the right, yanking the throttle in the process and she did a four foot long side spin. Lost the front turn signal, mirror, bar end, and rashed up the fairings. Got some rash down my left leg, ( dont know how that happened) somehow smashed left big toe and bruised a rib. Pisser is I was gonna sell it for a tidy profit in 4 weeks to a coworker. FML.
