tryed removing it without removing the dam battery tray. removed the bolt that goes through the tank on both sides of subframe. then i removed the big bolt. i cant remove the dam bolt that your side tank pannels screw into. there is a nut you need to hold on other side i think, i cant get to it without removing battery tray.... i also removed the bolt that is holding the subframe halfs together. the only thing holding the dam subframe on is that stupid azz fcking 14mm bolt!!!!! how the hell do i take it off without remvoing the battery tray, which i cant remove because the allen head is impossible to get to b/c the gas tank in the way of my hex wrench.
I think i was having the same problem as you. It was the lower of the 3 bolts on the side holding the sub frame on and had a nut on the back? I got it off but im not so sure how im going to get it back on. How did you get it back on if you did already?

yo can someone with experience get on this? I wana mark this as a save for next fall to do but its pretty sparse as is (thread = worthless with out pics) And I would be removing mine for powdercoating so these last few threads about getting to this magic 14mm bolt & getting her back on well.. lets just say I don't wana carry a pile of parts to my dealership and say I couldn't figure it out on my own...
The secret is an impact wrench.. If you have one you can take the bolt off without holding the nut on the front inside of the subframe. If you don't have one buy one and take it back when you get done with the job.
Got a new subframe powder coated and finally got the my sub frame off what a ***** though hoping to get it on the powder coated one tomorrow but I ended up just taking out the battery tray wasn't that bad made it some what easier I think
This is exactly the thread I was looking for. In my case, Im trying to replace a broken subframe with a new one. The only problem I am having is getting to that 14mm bolt like everyone else. PLEASE!!! SOMEBODY HELP me REMOVE My Dang SUBFRAME.
