I think most people that ask this question are asking if the different generations will interchange with little to no modification. Virtually anything can be made to fit with enough customization. It's super cool to see guys getting the different tails to fit...I love custom work. But not everyone is willing or able to put the work into trimming and custom fabricating brackets and stuff, so I think it's generally good advice when people suggest to stick to parts made to fit your specific bike.

Beyond that, if you want to try to custom fit parts...more power to ya

I left the seat lock where it was. I'll eventually fill that hole with a red LED or something...

This is all you need:
05 seat
03 front fender
05 taillight plastic bracket($6 at RonAyers)
05 ram air ducts
05 windscreen

Thanks,

Have a feeling its much the same as somebody pointed out lights wern't an issue and race fairings are missing them anyway but im sure its the same issues for rear,

...and what i wanted to know also as pointed out in posts above is what requires no mods, so basically all of the FRONT of the bike of 2003-2006 600rr's APART from the front fender just requires 03-04 air ducts or 05-06 air ducts (depending which way your going putting older or newer fairings on) and then they fit to existing mounting holes?

just a nice thing to know as one of my wish list is nice fairings so I could get latest gen fairings as possible if im buying oem anyway(i'd rather buy oem and get them painted than buy a kit, plan to own 600rr a long time gonna up the value that way like a mofo if my 04 needs selling ever, i know since im trying to shift another old bike atm thats much older and fairings is the one thing raised on every single viewing...as if im going to come down from a modified working 1988 bike to the silly offers they make just for that!) also gonna try keep full service history no matter how long i own rr even if it sits in a garage unused, makes a big difference to the next owner! had a nightmare catching up on servicing i didnt know was done or not on the 1988!

Opening up a old thread, And i'm going out on a limb here to say, From what I have read, that Some 06 / 05 Cbr 600 rr parts will fit & bolt right up to 04 / 03, but their are some that will have to be in some way modified, front fender does not fit & rear tail does not fit right on with out some mod. SO SO SO, correct me if i'm wrong, the tank & mids & upper fairings will fit, if you have the 06 / 05 forks the front fender will fit & if you have the rear subframe the rear will also fit, Nobody mention anything about the motor or swing arm, SO im guessing they will also fit with out any problems as well, giving a 03/04 Cbr rr a total face lift, so please correct me if i'm wrong !!! ANYBODY !!!!
