How do I...

Ok I did a search didn't really come up with much. Picture attached. The ring at bottm of the spring w notches. I assume that's preload? its one notch from all the way down. And sometimes, especially w wife on, certain bumps it just feels goofy, sometimes the tag will hit, I had the rebound and comprssion and stuff set up but we didn't do sag or turn that knob. So correct me if I'm wrong here. But I want to turn that. Now how do I?! I put it on stand then jacked up middle to take weight off and tried the hammer n bar method (don't worry I didn't wack the **** out of it)) do I need to remove the shock to do this?? Have someone hold the tail up? Whattttt??

if your bike has a tool kit, look for a tool that look somewhat like this:

http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?hl=en...r:5,s:20,i:145

no need to remove shock, there should also be an extension handle in the kit to provide extra leverage.

It hooks into the slots which you can see above the ramped notches

Cook Thanks. Ok so like a spanner tool similar to car coilovers. That opens a few doors. Bad part. My bike didn't come with a tool kit do they sell those at like cyclegear or anyplace? Also since you don't need to take off I assume the extension would because its hard as fuh and thus my hmmer/pry bar didn't work. I see I see

Sooo aparently it has to be a honda cbr spanner wrench. I just spent an hour or so trying wth my old car spanner wrench and no go. I also assume its probably hard as fuh to turn?

Ok don't wann beat dead buttt.... I just received my tools today got the spanner wrench ad extension. One exension wayy smaller then I thought. 2. I'm still not having luck with it. I got it on there and all and sometimes I can see it give a little turn a hair but then the wrench usually comes fying off and I knuckle f**k the peg. I can't seem to get it to stay long enough for even one click. Am I doing something wrong. bike is on stand. Extension onto wrench. Wrench onto coilover w nipple in slot. Then it comes off. More beer? Fairy dust? Anything lol?! Such a simple process I'm starting to wounder about myself...

lol, yep it's a PITA...

You can try filing into the little bit that sticks out at the end of the c spanner to give it more bite, other than that it's just perseverance.

I finally won!!!! After I taped the extension on then put a flat file into end and taped that on for extra leverage. I ground down the inside rounded part a bit so it sat closer to it and I 'sharpened' the actual nipple that sits in the collar a bit.. I see what you all mean about rounding it. So I re did it and I finally beat this thing.... since I only paid 9 bks for th wrench next fire I make I'm gonna throw it in the coals and heat treat it then I'm gonna weld the extension to it I feel accomplished:beer:
