This will be my first winter riding and I already have problems with my visor fogging up. It been around 40 degrees for the last few days. How do u guys keep your visor from fogging up?

I always get that at a stop even with my 1100 with all the anti fog vents.. At a cruise I'm good.. I think it's almost in avoidable I always just flip my visor up till i get going...
Bu if it's when our riding click your visor open one click so there is a gap.. I personally don't like it because it whistles and the draft goes right to my šea and i can't see.. the anti fog stuff I've never tried a buddy said its crap he has a anti fog visor and says it still does just not as bad..
I've had paintball masks with it and doesn't work either so I don't waste my time or $$.. Ive also tried the bandanna thing and that just falls off and ends up around my neck but some people it works.. A couple guys I ride with have full masks idk how well that works.. But they use it..
Is it time for a new helmet? If so or close look into a 1100 from shoei I love mine great helmet and money always well spend and can be had for $375 to $450.
I have a shoei 1100. I usually dont have a problem with the fogging but 40 degrees is so cold that I close all the vents and use a wind guard. I have tried the anti fog stuff on my visor and it seems to work for a day. Just seein if there were other options I didnt know about
new visor, they're relatively inexpensive and the difference is startling.
I used to put RainAway products on the inside and outside of my visor and they worked decently, made it virtually unnecessary to wipe my visor "clear" at speeds over 15mph.
Inside I used FogAway and it worked fairly well, only downside is that it leaves your visor a little bit hazy/streaks and smells a tad funky.
That being said as soon as I started buying Shark helmets I haven't had to even crack them open for stops (I also wear a balaclava) and the water doesn't seem to want to adhere to the helmet anywhere and I have only had it fog up once when I had a butt-pucker moment and almost started hyperventilating.

there is no way to stop the fog in extreme cold, gotta open your visor at slow speeds, at high speeds the vents should hold back fog as the air is circulating through the helmet, I have a pinlock anti fog insert but it still cant stop all fogging at cold, got a full balaclava and open it
now what sucks is when its cold...and raining as 30mph(or +) rain hitting you in the eyes hurts like a b!tch!!
Whenever I get to a light I open up my visor all the way and I breath super hard a few times and by the time I'm done doing that the lights about to go green.
On a more serious note, yeah a mask should help it. Anti-fog visors are available but I've never tried one before.
I wear a balaclava and use rainx on my visor... helps a little. I do the visor crack also til I'm rolling. Been thinking of trying to find a heated shield for my helmet.
I wish a fogged up visor was my only problem. It's pouring rain here and my heat wrap takes in water only to create a steam cloud when I'm at a light. Visibility proceeds to dropped to 30%. Solution: cracked visor and squijee gloves.
I use a pinlock visor on my Shoei and it doesn't fog up for me.
+1. Get a visor with the pinlock system. It's basically a lens with a silicon seal that sits inside your visor. It will stop fogging very effectively and doesn't cost much (although you may need a new visor). I had doubts, but was amazed after I put it in. The only problem is that on sunny days, my sunglasses still fog up, but only when not moving fast so I just crack the visor open a little in the city or at lights. Much less of a pain than using sprays, which I've tried and have had less effect.
Another vote for pinlock and anti fog insert. My helmet came with both, and it really does work well! I don't like cracking the visor and vents open when it's literally freezing outside, makes my eyes sting. The anti fog still does it's job!
Well, just got in at 2am after finishing work....it's about 0 to -1 Celsius outside, so thought I'd take a quick picture of the antifog insert to show how well it works :)
