My track season is officially over because of this, I now need new tires, tire warmers (might be the cause of the crash) and lots of repairs on the bike.

Tire warmers heat the tires to 170ish degrees, so that when I go out on track I dont have to take it easy the first few laps to allow my tires to get up to temp. I go out, they are hot, they also keep the tires hot all day, which reduces the number of heat cycles which makes the tires last longer.
My tires are only getting to about 110 with the warmers on, which wasnt really a big problem until that session, we went out for one lap, then had a red flag so we had to sit on the pit lane, if my tires were 170+ degrees they would have only cooled to, lets say 110 degrees, but since mine were only at 110 to begin with, they cooled down to much. Also the track is mostly right turns, so the right side of the tire gets hotter faster, I was making the 3rd left when I crashed, which is the left turn that asks the most from the tire, which mine was cold.

Damn sorry to hear that man, im just happy you are okay and that at least you know what caused all of this to happen. Get better soon.

Thanks, I am pretty much fine by now.
Cant say enough about the importance of good gear and having it fit properly. If my leathers fit me like they were supposed to, my knee would have been fine.
My knee armor rotated around and left my knee unprotected when I hit the ground.

Well it hasn't been from lack of trying, at least on my part. We should have one or two more weekends left to meet up.

I just went up to rt.22 in Brewster on Sunday. nothing crazy, but I like going north sometimes just to clear my head. The Merritt in CT and the Taconic are pretty nice too.
If it's warm enough again, I'm gonna go for a loop trip thru 684N to 84W to Taconic south back home.

I've been commuting to work via car and bike to Danbury, CT via 684 for the last two months and it's a relaxing ride. I'd would recommend rt301 between Carmel and Cold Spring while you're up there.

That sounds good. I would like to go before November comes around bc of weather, and this weekend should be in the 60's...sooo maybe idk.
Hopefully the rest of the crew can come through i know jayw is always itching for a meet lol

Just checked it on streetview... looks like a nice route to pass some miles on. You should lead that trip!
I'm down for this sunday for that trip, if it'sin the 60's etc
Don't bet on it. Morning temps up there start out in the 30's and 40's now and it's warm only for a brief period in the afternoon. I've been wearing heated gear each time I go up.
im out of power at my house. no internet either. no damage to my house or anything. but 2 houses down, a tree fell smack into the middle of a house. i dont think anybody was hurt.

Dang your lucky. Trees have caused so much casualties. What's bothering me the most is the cellular network being down
No damage here to home or bikes. The CBR was safe and dry inside a garage. Unfortunately I had to leave the 919 out in the storm because of a snapped clutch cable and I couldn't move it. So I covered it, locked the wheels, and chained it to a lamp post to prevent a tip over. Held up just fine.

Same here as skill, not much damage out east on LI, but some parts got really rocked...I feel bad for all of those who had damage and loss.
My bike was also in the garage, so she's fine.
The cellular network works on power, so if the power is out so are the cell towers...the network can not function properly causing a disrubtion in transmissions. Should be getting better.

I hope my bike is ok. Left it at a friends house, and of course my calls aren't going thru. Just got my oem seat cowl too... Probably shoulda saved my money, but 180$ is nothing when you spend 10g's on a bike
Going on day 10 with no power, no heat and no hot water. House, bikes and family are all fine. Generator has been keeping things powered up, just powered up the computer and found internet and phones are still working.
