pretty sure the old r6 is what we were getting at hell thats exactly what sin said.
as for the bike its self its still a honda and im sure it will still perform well. i think most are just disappointed at all the hype of it being all new for 2013 and being relatively unchanged as far as the mech side of the bike goes.
well kinda what i thought i guess, just an update
"Honda’s CBR600RR has long been heralded as the best all-around 600-class sportbike the world has ever seen. A winner both on and off the track, it offers a perfect balance of high-revving power, precise handling, light weight, and a compact overall size.
And for 2013 the best just got a whole lot better. We’ve given the CBR600RR some major updates, including new 12-spoke wheels, revised ECU settings, and a fine-tuned ram-air system to increase torque. Best of all, the CBR600RR gets a new “Big Piston” fork and retuned rear shock. And it’s all wrapped up in some sharp new bodywork. There’s even a version with Honda’s revolutionary Electronic Combined Anti-Lock Braking System (C-ABS), the first ever on a production Supersport motorcycle."
not overly impressed to be honest. Glad the can stays put, we'll have to wait and see how it fairs in the market? for me buying a new six, id be serioulsy looking at the new Kawi 636
@brmoore: an 800RR would make me sell my 600RR right now!
yea join the club, we're a small club i think since I don't know why they haven't made it already, I will continue to rave about it getting done like an angry old crazy man untill one day....
Let's squid it on an a suzuki with an 11+ jickser 750 haha, sounds like a cat, here jickser, there's a good girl...to be fair only ridden the 10 and the 11+ got revisions so I need to find somewhere that will let me test one, the suzuki next to my honda wont let me on the jickser 1000 yet but honda does, they're part of the same damn group!!! (same guy runs both dealers)

I'm going to give that bodywork some time to grow on me before I make a statement.
So very very happy that they are keeping the undertail exhaust.
Love the integrated tail light, upgraded suspension and wheels.
If only Honda had thrown in a 675 triple... Since that's where everything is headed these days... I hope Honda does like Porsche and upgrades motors on their existing platforms halfway through model years....
That said, I am glad Mr. Strife lived up to his name.

Same turn signals, same swingarm, same engine, same headlights-only they're horizontal? Same tail from 03-06, taillight is back to where it originally was, after "briefly" being put in a stupid place. Same red/blue from the 90's.
Half of this "new" bike is 10 years old.
Of course, the 600rr has always been the standard. But that standard is getting old now.

Wish I could see a rear view. Not sure how I like the tail section to looks like the one from the older RR. I like the way the front-end looks from the front just kind of smushed looking from the side. I'll wait til i see someone mod this before actually saying I don't like it.

Stop wasting time with this bike, people. You already have a 600rr, and if this bike is only slightly updated, then our bikes are only slightly worse is performance. Not worth the investment.
The real news is that the '13 Fireblade is coming in Repsol! That's my dream bike. If I weren't in debt, I'd be the first in line for one of those. The Repsol Fireblade is the ONLY bike I'd give up my 600rr for.

shouldnt really have to mod a bike before you decide if you like it or not. Surely its better to start off with something you like and try to tweak it, if you want to.
I haven't read all of this, so forgive me if someone has already posted this.
I think the 600RR is off the market in the next two years. With having the CBR250 and 500, why would they keep the 600 around? They are meeting the needs of the entry level riders, and city riders who need cheap, city friendly transportation.
I really feel if they go with a bike between the 500cc and liter bike, they will be following the way of the Yamaha rumors, and going with a middleweight, 750-800cc, possibly a triple.
I would hate to see it go, but an 800 triple, and a V4 liter bike would be an nice lineup.
Say it isn't so! That's awful. It's like a bad mix of elements from several bikes, present and past, neither here nor there. I'm not that worried about performance since I don't even come close to pushing the limits of my bike, although it's important enough. New wheels are nice, but I can do that with my '09 and I think it looks a lot better than this.
We can talk about performance and specs all day, but these are just pics and they are ugly as sin.

I just dislike this new style.
"You cant polish a sh*t"

I'm digging the REPSOL paint scheme, but it looks like I'll stick to my blue and silver 2007 600RR for a few more years. I honestly think it's a hotter bike than the new 2013.
Still, it doesn't look BAD, just not as sexy as my '07 XD
I'm eager to see if it performs any better than previous year models. Can't wait for a shootout with the new 636.

Chances are slim to none that 2013 CBR 600 will be a total redesign. That is a damn shame. It has been 6 years. What the hell is Honda thinking? Everyone knows that the R6 is a better track bike. I'm tired of all the Yamaha fanatics bragging about Yamaha R6 and R1 being better than their Honda counter parts.

Not completely true, i have not long had my new R1 and theres no question in my mind that the CBR1000rr is a much better bike to ride on road or track...
Boy I am sooooo glad I bought my '12 in September. At least 3 grand cheaper for a brand new bike that looks better and perform just as well since I will probably never get anywhere close to the limit of my bike.

Man I swear everyone on here sounds like they hate the bike and would have been happier had they not even continued the series. I think that bike looks good, someone said it looks like an old BMW 850 which is what I thought as well.
Looks good and I'm glad they did something different instead of just colours. I'm not getting it just because I am getting a Fireblade but it still is nice to see the cosmetic changes as well. Oh but I am curious about hte speedo?

That's definitely going to be a losing battle for the cbr... The 636 is definitely the 600 to get for 2013...
