This has got to be the ugliest 600 on the market right now. It's soo ugly no words can describe. I'm glad my 08 will still be in style for the next 6-7 years.

If they didn't mention the slipper clutch, then it isn't there.
The bike is pretty much what they did with the update 1000. Same engine, frame, swingarm, revised body work, few other updates. It's about what I was expecting.

Its very similiar to the '07+ 600rrs. No slipper.

Collarbone is tip-top, titanium Thanks for remembering.
Found the spec sheet in Google Search. No slipper. Pretty lame, considering all the competitors have one. I ain't scared of wheel chatter, but it seems that would have been a simple modification.
I am curious if it will be possible to retrofit the ECU, Shock and forks, and wheels.
I really feel if they go with a bike between the 500cc and liter bike, they will be following the way of the Yamaha rumors, and going with a middleweight, 750-800cc, possibly a triple.
I would hate to see it go, but an 800 triple, and a V4 liter bike would be an nice lineup.
True I was wondering what would happen due to the CBR500R, I mean its the companies producing 600's that made it a 'class' so maybe the new clasess will be 500 commuters and 800cc sportbikes, since maybe sport bikers are a more elite brand of biker and can handle higher cc's, i agree with that
I'm going to reveal a secret, i've been registered on the suzuki forum a long time despite slagging them off, it's mainly as they always felt cheap and plasticy and their dealers have never been helpful...but this is nice:
if your wondering why so much yoshi, they did R&D with suzuki back in the day, think they do well for the gsxr's, or so i've heard....not that i know anything about suzuki or anything...
I suggest we write a very angry letter to Mr. V-tech Honda!!! I'll start!!
Dear Mr. V Honda
Thank you for inventing Honda. But the new 600 makes me feel angry. It dosent look like you put much effort into the design. My friends at the .net are also feeling angry and a little horny. What makes us feel like this is the idea of being rediculed by the yamaha peeps. Please fix this meow!! You have 24 hrs Mr. Honda. BTW how's the wife and kids? Are karate movies still in over on your side of the world??
Love, 600rr.net :)

Looks like their budgets got shifted into 500s and 250s mostly due to the fact that China and India are the big time buyers of those smaller bikes. With the population of those two countries together ten times larger than United States, they are following the money trail and larger motorcycles are no longer the priority.
On the side note. Wheels are nice, but the rest reminds me of 05-06 models. I think my 09 is defiantly hotter looking. I am also happy to see no changes to the way rear pegs are being attached as I am working on a mod for 09-12 models that supposed to replace that. I am glad to see no changes there.
for the most part i like it. a bit disappointed the motor hasn't changed much. to me, the sexiest rr has been the '07 white/silver. i have the '07 blue/silver and i think that's a damn sexy bike as well.
i would love to get a new bike but with the few changes since 2007, there really isn't a justification to let my '07 go.
for most of us, performance isn't a factor since we most likely do not have the skillset to ride a bike to its full potential. so, other than aesthetics, we don't have much to gripe and moan about.
my one issue is, the only solid color paint scheme is red ... i hate red.
This reminds me of the incident when Apple released iPhone 4S instead of iPhone 5 that everyone had anticipated. Now that the iPhone 5 is out, the 4S looks better in certain ways. When given a choice of 4 vs 4S with very little difference, people still buy the 4S. Give this bike a chance to sink in. I'm sure people will rather have the latest and greatest instead of a 5 years old bike. I'm just waiting for a revised version of this bike in couple years and then decide. :D

It reminded me more of the older R6s(emphasis on the "S" here). Honestly, I'm not really digging the looks. I think it's funny though that they brought back the vents and in tail taillight though. I thought for sure the center up exhaust would be gone and we would have seen a 1000RR tail and low sung exhaust. Now Honda is all alone in that aspect.

You like it or not that's a different story. I'm not even sure if I like it yet but I applaud them for making it unique. It looks NOTHING like any other bike now.
If anything it looked more like an R6 in the previous year cause of the seperated headlights with a sharper nose.
This goes to show that whatever they do with styling doesn't matter for so many people since they can't even see the design or perceive it right
This is what we have been waiting 5 long years for?! I agree with the previous posts regarding the bodywork, looks like 05-06 body on a 07-12 frame. Headlights are unimaginative to say the least and the only, "upgrades" appear to be the 1K's wheels and forks. It will be nice to not have to spend $200 for a tail light though for anyone buying this model. IMO: Too Little, Too Late Honda!
