How do you manage to have those buds stay in your ear? I took regular ear buds just like those and for the love, i could not get them to stay in my ear. I thought an over the ear headbud was needed?
I dont have any issues with them falling out lol just set them in and pull my helmet down? IDK....

Ya, if you get the ones that are low profile on the outer side, they usually stay in without issue. If you're having problems keeping them in, you probably need to swap the pad on the plug. Also, keep in mind that your ear canals are probably different sizes, so you may need different sized pads.
The ear tug method is a good one. Just pull down on your ear a bit, insert the bud and release. This should "lock" them in place.
I have a sony pendant bluetooth headset that I wired into my helmet but I really want to swap the buds for speakers. I am just having a hard time finding a decent enough walkthrough to take the plunge. I imagine it's as simple as cutting and splicing wires, but want to be sure before I ruin my $60 bluetooth headset..
Well I was getting closer to having them right where I wanted then 1 of the headphones broke..... That side no longer plays anything audible.. Awesome :(

Whaatttt. Sorry to hear that. They were skull candys?
Yeah they were the icon2s just like you bought! Idk I guess the pressure from me putting my helmet on and off messed something up inside one of the headphones! I had finally gotten it into a comfortable spot too.....:( I don't wanna order another pair in case it happens again but I just can't stand using my iPhone headphones... What else is a cheap alternative to like a chatterbox or scala rider thing?

I got wicked bored yesterday and found a pair of headphones at work that were trashed so I went ahead and wired them into my bluetooth headset. Super easy process, even for someone who has never soldered before.
Got it done today.
I managed to find the headphones at Winners for $20.
Looks good. The placement caused me a bit of grief cause my ear would turn but I managed to find a good spot.
Ya, the way I put my helmet on has drastically changed. I have to grab the chin bar and give it some good tugs and twists to get my ears to straighten out. Definitely worth it IMHO though.

Oh definitely. Once i figured out how my ear needed to be positioned in the helmet I moved the headphones around a bit too. I put enough Velcro inside the helmet to be able to comfortably move the headphones around. And i also velcroed the mic to the front of the helmet. So it's nicely positioned and easy for me to press the Stop/Play button with gloves on and without looking.
I'm not sure if they still make these "180s" ear warmers. Mine have removable headphones that sound pretty good. I've had them for more than 5 years, though. They would be perfect for this!

Seems like a good idea. You should give it a try and let us know.
Does anyone have their music cut out on them while riding at higher speeds due to the mic? I bough a pair of skull candy ear buds and the mic that hangs down just picks up to much wind I guess. Just curious if it was a quality issue or if any of you have experienced it.
i also have a scorpion helmet and there is a way to have headphones in your helmet.
i picked up a little cheapy set of headphones from your good ole' Walmart. these cost me about $4.88 no joke. no need to cut anything they just pop right off. and they are crazy thin
you just have to put them in AFTER you get your helmet on, just slip them in through your face shield between the padding and your ear. and there ya go they are plenty loud for me.
