Yeah, the '13s design is out there. But I like it. Kinda reminds me of the 1199 in the headlight area (yes GASP, I made that comparison). Also I absolutely LOVE that Honda brought the Repsol scheme to the 600rr. If I hadn't just bought my '12 in August, I would be heading to a dealer as soon as the '13s were put on sale.

I really like what Honda did, the new look is already starting to grow on me, and the performance/suspension upgrades they did seem to be well thought out and nicely added. I really like the repsol edition...
I don't know why but I also REALLY like the 500R. Seems very practical, and seems like it would be fun to take to the track too! I like the P-Twin fuel injection. I thought about getting a ninja 250 to ease my way into the track scene, as i still have a lot to learn in the corners, but wasn't sure how i felt about it after riding one. I like the idea of the 500R, it seems like a nice middle ground between the 600RR and the 250... I would love to see one in action or get some feedback from someone if they do purchase one...
Maybe they didn't want to compete head on with the 636 on the technical front and might release a technically advanced model next year with the same aesthetics of the 2013 model to have some sort of edge.
Also, for the love of God integrate the damn turn signals.

talking the 2010 version only(i know i harp on about it but it wasn't a test ride, it was a solid month everyday on it) that is correct, it isn't where you expect a 750 to be, thats my dissapointment, however they upped the power and downed the weight for 2011, which is why i reserve judgement on the 11+ for now
if honda made an 800 it'd be better i reckon...doesn't seem they're even making the VFR800 anymore? I think a sport 800 should come in, just not sure street riding everyday i need 1000 but to stay honda that appears my only option...but yea a modified full exhaust 600rr will come in like 10bhp off the 2010 or older 750 lol...
Since this bike looks so 2003 and 04'ish the only way I see Honda selling this motorcycle is to go back to that price. I think it was right around $ 8,599.00. So anyone who pays $13,500 for this pile is a fool.

The 750 will rape the RR. Not sure where you guys are coming up with it even being close.
in a straight line a 1000 will rape your and others 750's...whats your point?
i was saying for 750...its not enough of a gap, and ive ridden the 750 and 2 600rr's daily in all weathers, so im talking street...which is the use i buy for...only bit i like was that extra torque..but mapped and all setup the 600rr can do torque as well just add some teeth to the sprocket
or is your opinion that a 600rr is worth getting rid of and paying extra just to have the 750 OVER...just modifying the 600rr you have, own and are use to? I don't think so for 2010 or older but as said, i reserve judgement on the 11+ on paper it is better...
you can't really a call a bike with no competition in its sector so amazing than everything else can you...who's competing against the 750 in terms of sportbikes? honda don't make a sport(not sport touring) 750/800, yamaha dont, kawasaki don't....
Alot of the reviews of the 11+ are good though:

lol if you read a bit further back in my message i said all it takes is a full mapped exhaust and it gets nearer...but as said that doesnt include the 11+
maybe I'm tainted as I've ridden the 08+ blade, and that thing picks up a like a mofo and plants the power in, theres something i like about the gsxr750 but I cant put it in words...also something that always makes me buy honda and I think for my money considering I can get a 2011 750 or a 2008+ blade for same price area...i pick the blade...add £2k and your into 2012 blade money as well...if your good at saving, since I see them 2-£3k down on showroom prices already
If you own a 600, for any reason other than purely financial, then you already accept the fact that you're on the lower end of the performance scale. Why compare it to a 750 or any of the larger bikes. The newer liter bikes are lighter and handle better all the time. Your 600 is not going to out handle my RSV4, but it costs a lot less.
The modern 600 class bikes are ALL amazing for what they cost. The shootout's done by the various magazines have them all within a percentage point of each other and different mags claim different winners.

If anyone doesn't like their new 2013 RR. My 09 is up for trade. I loved my '06 and then 2007-12 version slowly make their way in. I'm sure the 2013 will be no difference. Life is to short to stick to ONE bike.

The rear should be a direct swap, the front though I doubt. But I was thinking of swapping out the entire front end. Might as well have a halfway 2013 upgraded model on my 08.

I also had both. I racked close to 6k miles on my 750 and never once felt impressed by it. I'm not a track rider but I did take the bike on some twisties and whenever I gave throttle coming out of a turn I was never impressed. I'm sure on paper it has that extra 15-20 hp, but my butt dyno says differently. 6th gear highway pulls actually feel better on my 07 600rr and I really don't know why. I'll never opt for a 750 again because I couldn't really feel those extra 151 cc's. The big gains come with the liter bikes...not a 750.
The new rr is starting to grow on me. I hated the 07rr when it first came out but it grew on me and I've had 3 ever since lol. But I don't think it's worth trading an 07-08 rr for a 2013 rr. Weight is the same and I haven't read anything about revamps in midrange.

I actually rather like the update especially the HRC paint scheme below. Whether or not its on par with the offering from Kawasaki remains to be seen. It seems that the new bike may share quite a few parts with the outgoing model which personally is a good thing as some of the parts on my CBR may transfer across if I ever buy one. That said I'm unlikely to buy one in the early part of next year as I'm content with my current CBR but I will certainly be test riding one.
It will be interesting to read what the press make of it at the inevitable track launch. I'm also interested in seeing what Honda releases by way of official accessories for it.

But it could be worse, I would rather castrate myself with a piece of rusty barbed wire then ride this thing... But back in the day a tail piece that looked to be the size of a log was with hot and hip thing to do...
And a member made talk of people claiming 600's were almost as fast as 750's. Dude you have no idea the crap talk I got from these little thuggy boys on Gixxer 600's. I used to hear it all the time, "I got power commander and full exhaust and two teeth up back one teeth down, i'll roll away and leave you." Maybe you guys see a different thing, but in north alabama, it is just, idiocy for lack of a better word. I doubt a 600 supersport with all the stuffings could hold against a stock GSX-R 750.That 600 definitely has the ability to generate alot of work with that horsepower, but that 750 and 1000 has alot more torque throughout the powerband to boot and more horsepower up top, lol
I finally got sick of hearing it and put the theory to the test in a 20 mph roll against the young boy. The results were laughable. It is like putting a stock C6 Corvette in a race against a Corvette ZR1. We did it again and again and again, until he realized that, being generous to his bike, his 120 rwhp (I doubt it has that) was still 30 short of my dyno tested 150 rwhp.
But none the less, 600's are fast machines and I can't stand people that recommend them as newby bikes. I may as well be giving a child a loaded gun and letting him play with it unattended. Yah yah, I hear folks saying it is all about throttle control, but lets be straight. Most people who have never gotten a chance to ride a bike that does the 1/4 in the 10's, especially if they are young and full of sauce, are gonna wanna do one thing, open it up and watch the digits fly high. Lets be honest, the odds are not in their favor even if they start on a Ninja 250R. Odds are they will lay it down due to rider error in the first year of owning it, lets not increase the odds by suggesting they start on a bike that does 160+ mph.
I have a 2002 Corvette C5 with LS6 ported polished heads, streetable cam, full exhaust, full intake, 11:5-1 compression, built to go fast and it put down 450 rear wheel horsepower and 450 ft-lbs of torque. Needless to say, I would not give it to the hands of a teenager or new driver of a fast car. With drag radials, it runs the 1/4 in 11.3 at 128 mph.
Guess what, a bone stock CBR600RR is faster in the 1/4... But I hear people saying all the time that it is an excellent starter bike, lol, they should be shot for suggesting such nonsense.
