i had a relationship that started in 2010, after i got back from a deployment to iraq. i would buy her things, make her happy. and when she was happy, i was happy. things were going great, even through my last deployment to afghanistan this year. then i lowsided going through the twisties this may. the insurance ended up totaling her out. now i have to start a new relationship with my current bike.

Don't think you should base your relationship status off of what has happened to other people.every relationship has there problems some bigger than others but it depends on the persons in the relationship to make it work or just give up. How will you know if you'll ever be happy with someone if you never try? Don't get me wrong I understand completely where your coming from but I don't believe staying away from relationships for that reason is the right answer.
My previous relationship was great in every aspect sure we fought but what couple doesn't. Only problem we had was in the bedroom. In the beginning it was great but after awhile she just got lazy. I kept it to myself for a ling time to see if things would turn around but they didn't.so eventually I had to say something. Hurt her feelings pretty bad but it got the point across. She swore up and down things would change but as time passed nothing happened so I had to give in. I tried everything I could to liven things up things I've never even done before but nothing came of it. Sucks that was the way it had to be but it was I would have rather her cheated on me than the sexual part ofthe relationship die out. The relationship I'm currently is the exact opposite. She was an only child spoiled her whole life so it seems like nothing is ever enough but sex is still great guess I learned that some things need to sacrificed to stay in a relationship. But I do not believe that sex is one of them. If there is no connection there I feel there is no hope. Just my opinion

That sounds just like a relationship I had that started in mid 2010. Ended at the end of 2010. Worst experience ever. But I came out of the shitty experience a better person.

OP I agree with what was said about not basing you're relationships off of others. It could be that you just don't want to commit.

Have you been hurt real bad by a former gf or never had a relationship?

my problem isn't that i'm afraid to commit, my problem comes after i do... about 1.5-2 months in i find these little things that annoy me and things that i just don't see myself with for the rest of my life... so i breakup as to not waste my time or more importantly hers.

Sh*t, I'm in my mid-30's and have yet to find the one. I'm successful, debt free, sociable, and you can keep the lights on in the room when I'm around. Fate simply hasn't dealt me the right hand yet when it comes to finding "the one". I just got out of a long term relationship 6 weeks ago (more her doing than mine) and I'm back on the prowl. I felt a little sore about the whole thing for a bit, now I'm back on the horse again. Found a new lady friend and god willing she will be the one. If not, I'll test drive another one. And another. Until I find one I like (who can put up with me as well). In the meantime I'm having a lot of fun. And I wouldn't lie if I told you I enjoy my extra freedom when I'm outside the confines of a serious relationship.

Enjoy your toys, enjoy the fact your healthy enough to have a cool hobby like motorcycling, and keep on trucking my friend. Don't worry about where a relationship is headed from day one. Just let the chips fall where they may and enjoy the ride (both figuratively and literally) in the meantime!

Broke up over the weekend, and honestly, it's hard.
Don't mind being single again, have always loved the freedom, but being alone sucks!

I was with my high school gf for 5 years heck even got engaged. I sacrificed so much including this sport that I love. I am no longer with her and I am slowly rebuilding myself and creeping my way back into racing. And I agree If you get along with your gf why wish for the single life lol I visit some sugawalls at least once a week(weekend) it still amazes me how girls are so quick to give it up.

Met two girls at work tonight who are recently single. One 2 days ago, the other 4 days ago....it's unfortunate for them and me that I AM in a relationship. Curses!

wait a minute, is this what I'm thinking it is? people call it "sugar walls"? Single guys go there? I have been single, as in, non-se*xual relationship for about 9 months and i don't find the need to go there, it's crazy man.
but back on topic, I think i know exactly how you feel OP, ever since my first relationship got screwed up so bad, I can't seem to date someone for more than 3 months. Those that I like often ended up bore me out. My thought toward this drought time is like a break time, time to reflect and do better in the future and not actively looking for a new relationship right away. Somehow, somewhere, that girl's gonna appear, cheer up and ride buddy

I sometimes think I should try to get more than a root in some moments.... right before i nut... then I want to be alone again :D

seriously though... sick of being used by stupid bitches...

I look at all my mates in relationships, basically at the start its all happy families... then whatever the bitch says the mate has to obey or he is in trouble... I don't want anything like that.

If I want to go for a ride, I don't want to ask permission, or to go to the pub, or to buy new parts, or to buy gym gear etc. etc. all my mates do and they hate it, but now know nothing else. and I never see them. its lonely being single at times when all your mates do couples **** 90% of the time, but at what cost would you pay to cure the loneliness? some **** is not worth it.

I just recently ended a 12 year relationship. I put up with a lot of **** from this woman just because I didn't want to be single again. By the end, I couldn't wait to get rid of her! I feel sorry for the next ones to come along, because I'm not putting up with any BS.

You should only ever marry twice.

The first marriage, you marry for the money

then you marry for love.

ha ha.

I've been married for 14 years this time, and it's a fantastic relationship. The first 2 sucked BIG TIME.
