CK in the state of VA it is illegal to swerve back and forth to warm up your tires. I assume this is the case for most states.
OP, good luck and hopefully the Judge will take it easy on you!
That may very well be true. But this discussion has come up several times here and other forums and I remember a CA/AZ spacific thread about it and someone made a very valid post of it being 100% legal in those states and I assumed many other but ever state and local law will vary but for riders saftey to avoid obsticals debris and other road hazards that may cause the rider to lose controls and injur one self or the vehicle in a safe manner is legal to move freely in their own lane as they please bein that whole lane is your riding space and is legal to ride on the left middle or right side.
That being said if it becomes a hazard to other or one self being done in an unsafe manner or distracting and causing other drivers or riders to react or enraged them selves it then becomes wreck less driving/riding or public endangerment. It being said to actually be legal to warm the tires up and actually being mentioned for something that's non existent is beyond me.. But the sighting officer or arresting officer would have to have defensive proof the rider was deliberately swirving for tire arms up and it actuall being written exactly so its illegal to do so.. Is pretty far fetched...
But seeing this rider apparently being in dubi local state and federal law does nothing to effect the laws over there.. So it doesn't do much good to argue Ps and Qs not helping the OP any. But to have the OP look into local laws there.

Cops are dicks when they want to be. Sorry to hear. The justice system is by no means fair or rational. Stupid people get to make stupid decisions. You are at the mercy of the idiots in power.
On a side note, warming up your tires is done better with hard acceleration and hard braking in a STRAIGHT line, rather than swerving. The flexing of the carcass is what really generates heat.
i got a ticket for walking, by a motorcycle cop back in the day, so even some of them are just a$$holes when they want to be or need the extra check mark... (and yeah, i said some so no trippin...) --- anyways, good luck bro and hope it goes well and as others said, consulting with an attorney might not be a bad idea...
also, go to the impound lot and beg the attendant to take "best care" of your bike.......with a good dollop of cash.... and go by there every few days to make sure the bike is OK.....
even though you're getting banged by the system, try and work it to minimize damage to bike and soul.....
I believe you are in the right.....

im willing to add a 0 to all ur rates, however, one thing u forgot to mention
for 1000$, what can you do to the ******* that pulled me over ?
Doing that doesn't warm up your tires. HOpe everything works out nonetheless.
in my opinion it does, you will be covering more surface area in a zigzag compared to going in a straight line, and thus the tires could get warm faster.
+ where I live is kinda sandy and dusty, so it could actually help remove whatever is on the tire

Great article here on why this is a myth. Other than cleaning the tire you're not actually warming up your tire any better that way. You want to warm them up fast? Do hard accelerations followed by hard braking.

Yeah. This was cover in the myth and truths of motorcycle thread
And just a heads up swirving to "warm up the tires" is all bs... What people don't understand is that stopping and going in acceleration and friction on the road from rotation is what warms up tires... When you see la mens or formula racers swirving its not to warm the tires a lot of people think it is but its wrong its meant to get the cherries (little balls of old rubber due to being so soft of tires) and debris off the tire for traction... They warm their tires in the pits with warmers and a full lap around the track to get the heat up..
So swirving does nothing but bring you attention or for those who know better make you look like a fool showing off.. Unless you just went through sand or dirt is the only time I do it or if I get really bored on long trips and go with the song on my player.. But performance factor it's useless...

are you guys saying that the friction between the tires and the road is the same when going in a straight line as when throwing the bike left and right ?
dude stop asking about the tire warming. if you needed to warm your tires, you were planning on speeding reclessly. no rider in his right mind rides that close to the limit.
if you told me you were swerving to feel the bike, id believe you and back you, but heating the tires, in dubai? come on bro.
still, the cop overreacted, as they mostly do. id be really humble and say and do the right thing

myth!!! we have some road here where the sign says 50. you would be hard pressed to make it through at 60 without dragging your knee haha. you wouldnt wanna be on the road with cold tires.

you should be riding within YOUR limits, below the maximum speed allowed on the road. the indicated or suggested speed is not a target or a minimum speed requirement.
assuming you need to warm the tires, do you warm them whenever you had been waiting at a traffic ligth for 60 seconds? do you warm them after hitting water on the road?
how long does a stationary tire maintain its temperature, and how much does wind or water reduce the temperature? not trying to be a d&ck, just pointing out how flawed it is on the street.

ah that clears it up. scientific experiment proves it. still the cop was an idiot for taking the OP in
dont swerve around doing nothing to your tires and you most likely wouldnt have been pulled over for it.
swerving does nothing for tyre heat, braking and accelerating does the most(after tyre warmers) after that is normal riding, swerving is last and does jack, it works for cars as the steering means when they do that it stretches and pulls on the rubber but(simulting braking and accelerating but safer)...but on a bike your tyres are in one line, swerving side to side just means you ride on a different part of the tyre...meaning the part you were on now loses its heat...
BUT what can this cop prove...did you go out your lane? no....so what is he even on about i'd sue...how can you endanger life by being in your lane, swerving side to side does nothing for tyre heat...but it also does nothing to anyone else
Sue and get a blade and find that cop and pull up next to him and thank him for your litre bike....i'd love to see the look on his face, or get some mods and show him how nice your bike is now due to him being an ass and you getting a lawsuit, locked up for 2 days on bullshit, thats gotta be worth some $$$ just remember things like sun damage to paintwork(well..try your luck) any marks to your bike, wasted time, trauma on friends and family etc etc $$$ will turn into $$$$$$
Edit: sorry didn't read acceleration and braking was already mentioned
but erm all of you on about dubai or america...i live in the UK tyre heat is something to think about at least half if not more of the year for a daily rider, it was something i first looked into a long time ago to get rid of the myths, your tyres can be warm these days with the technology out in rubber within like 5 miles, thats most recently checked on my 600rr with Bridgestone BT016's and Michelin Pilot Power 2CT's to name two, i've ridden on ice on bridgestone BT92's you just have to remember your tyres specs, i know the 2CT's are 51.2 degrees dry, about 42 degrees wet and then for ice well...wouldn't go beyond small angles like 30....i mean your not out on a joy ride on ice unless your a wierdo so it's about riding somewhere not for knee dragging on ice

LOL, nobody is arguing buddy Merely, stating a fact for VA. Like you said, none of this applies to the OP an thats obvious. Move along...nothing to see here.
