HA! Somebody who has owned one who admits it finally! it's ok moving but standing still noisy as hell
Anyway we all know who's the daddy here, this is a Honda forum, so without further adue, in rolls the king;
ooo yes that's doing it for me, my 600rr mod list including whats already been done, added to that, and you'd have perfection, one of them in the garage next to a 2013 aston martin v12 vantage and you can create sweet music everyday of your life
but to the original post, no im not upping to litre yet, i live in a rich town though(some from the UK might get a close guess just based on saying that) and there's an supercar dealer right in the middle(and yes it sells astons), loads of jaguar/ford/maserati garages, etc all within about 1mile of each other...so i live in the right place, just don't earn the right money hahaha, they had a car show recently, first one, they had one of the F1 cars for this year there in the town centre, good thing about the show is, the guy who organised most of it and owns one of the stores in the town, is a biker! oh yea!
we're just missing a honda motorcycle dealer in the town, but there's one major one a few miles down the road so would be tough going to setup and drag away their customers in a town where poeple get ferrari's instead, they other one is sh!t though so worth doing if somebody can
^ lol, when my buddy brought his new 999 home his wife looked at him and said " wtf? it's broken already??" LOL also liking the fact the 848's have a wet clutch ;)

LOL! The 999's were probably the hideous bike they've made as well ... but Ducati
I heard a lot of negative things about the RSV4 but also heard amazing feed back as well. But also heard of 848 tanks expanding :|
There's so many amazing bikes out these days. It's going to be a hard decision when the time comes.
lol, yeah i know. It's just the daily driver/ergo's/ parts, maintencance costs that are neg's for me :P But part of me would still love one. NEED to do the Ducati Ride Day next spring
yes we do!!! as far as i know GP bikes still has their demo 848 stealth for sale. less then 1500km comes with a new bike warranty as it has not been registered yet.
get vtec out on a bike eh......... is that mofo just cager cruising since he got his new wheels?

The Following User Says Thank You to crash277 For This Useful Post:
If you want a no hassle speed machine then go with 1000rr.
If you want something different, unique and a torque monster the 1x98 is your bike.
If you have money then the 1199 is for you.
I've put extensive kms on a 1000rr and currently own a 1098. I can answer questions on both these bikes.
Have you ridden a 1199(did you hear about Carlos Checa's test ride witht the R?) what would you get, 1199(red) or 1198s(white, red frame)? and how much KM have you put on the 1000rr before getting it service? I know with Ducati's you've got the 1k service, the 3k and etc.
I want a ducati because of the grunt/ looks. The first think I seen/ heard one, I knew I wanted one. But the services are kinda making me think twice, because when I buy a bike I'll ride it LOTS! I'm not thinking about keeping the kms low, like some rides or owners of any motorcycle/ vehicles.
Too many people following their heart over the MIND!!
John McGuiness, Casey Stoner, hate to break it to you but they ride Honda...
The John McGuiness The Repsol models is super sick and :| Castrol!!!! I will probably end up getting an 1000rr because I'm not loaded and probably can't afford the maintenance fees but a Ducati lol!
I think the question to ask is why do you want a liter bike? Unless for some reason you absolutely need the top end speed, then the 600 can do everything a 600 can. Just last month I met a racer at Willow Springs' big track. That track is known for speed. This guys was racing there for 6 years on various bikes. He said his lap time on a 600 was faster than 1000! I know it is hard to believe. But I've heard similar stories before.
I'm so happy with my 600. Don't think il ever bother getting a liter. Especially the CBR 1000rr. Personally my opinion after 07 the look just went downhill. I think the 08 and up models are so ugly
How do you harness all the power of a liter bike on the streets? I can see people getting one for track duties, but seems a little overkill for the streets. I'm perfectly happy with my 600. May be one day an S1000RR would be in my garage, but it would be there for look more than anything else.

Have ridden the zx10r, s1000rr and rc8r recently. The Kim is a great motor on the street. Friend has one and it draws a crowd. Since my bike is my daily driver I would be concerned that since its so limited parts might be harder to come by. Maybe I am wrong. Also it's pricey and not sure how resale would be if I needed to sell it. Hard to beat Honda. Don't see many ducs getting built for Isle of Man and that 7500 mile valve service isn't quick to do therefore pricey. I also drawn to new 636 and Daytona 675R.

I myself have never wanted a liter bike. Yes I've owned two buells but they don't really fall into the liter bike category. I'm 6'1" 190 lbs with out gear and I've never been able to out ride my 600 bikes. And I've only ever had a hand full of liter bikes out run me on the track. So I will never consider trading up to a 1000cc bike. No need for a big bike.

hey if its of any value.....i had a 2010 zx-10r. that thing was a BEAST. i went back to a 600rr because of the fact it was waayy to much bike for the street. if you want a litre bike i would consider getting one of those. quite honestly the only way i would ride one of those again is if i stretch it and race it in the quarter mile. honestly take it from me....third gear, hundred miles an hour you can still pull that front wheel up. found that out by mistake

It's not always about who can outrun who on what bike.
Riding a literbike on the track is fun. Since most of us aren't getting paid to be on the track having fun is important.
I agree that most of us will be faster around a track on a 600. But I do enjoy twisting the throttle on a literbike on the straights.
+1000, it's all the difference on the street to have that when you ride everyday, you can almost use first gear the whole time most litre bike street rider use first and second 90% of the time
now you can't also deny the beefy deep drone on a 1000 isnt a reason too
Yea no doubt I'll be smoked by 600's for a while...you gotta restrain yourself on the litre, you'll be over a wall and into the next country with the power when it goes wrong

I have the not loaded problem with everybike, love modifying them, unless OEM parts become the best bit for the job in the world i'll always be modifying...even then if OEM was best I'd still be modding it really if I got a paintjob done...
Just knowing i could take a lbs off here or a lbs off there makes me want to do it, or strengthen a bit there, or shorten a bit over there, or make another bit more comfortable, getting carried away but you get it :)
I have had a many bikes. I am on the 08 1000rr right now and love it. When i had my 07 cbr600rr i loved it but always had my eye on the 1000rr.
I loved the look of the 081k from the day i saw it. So for me the 600 was just a good step along the way.
The only thing i would rather have is the new s1000rr HP4 and thats not going to happen
thats interesting i rode the 08 blade and found it very similar to the 07-08 600rr, controls, seating position etc were in the same place it was like...a familiar friend but with more grunt/power/torque it was awesome
