Hey everyone, I'm new here on the forums (well been hanging around reading for a little bit but yeah) I currently have a 2012 CBR250R that I'm going to be letting my wife take over and I'm going to be getting a 600RR. Still haven't fully decided on color either black or the red/white of course. I already plan on buying it from TN from the powerhouse dealer in Chattanooga they currently have the 2012's for $8,997 without any dealer fees or any of that nonsense.
Any inputs on color? I like the red/white but white wheels seem like a royal PITA honestly. Also I use my bike for commuting I don't even have a car at the moment. So it will be ridden daily. So any suggestions for corrosion prevention areas to keep an eye on for rust or anything would be appreciated as well.
Updated: added pictures and Videos after I got some Tripage mods done to the bike.

Welcome, seems like a great pirce on a new six! Love white rims , but you're right i would hate to have to clean them 24-7, id go w the black one. Where exactly do you live? unless your riding in snow / salt filled roads you dont need to worry about corrosion, when storing it's a good idea however to coat metal areas w some WD-40 which will avoid mositure etc. Oh yeah i take it you like STI's ? :)

Live in Columbus, GA so no snow really to bother with just an occasional rain shower, and yeah I love my STi's unfortunately for me I just sold my 04 2 weeks ago but sometime next year I'm gonna look at getting another, heck I've owned 3 so I can't go too long without haha.

I thought about that actually. I found a posting online with some "details" of the 2013's not sure if its real or not pretty much no differences from what I saw on there but they showed a pic of the red as it is now and an optional one with black wheels perhaps for 2013? And a change from one piece of silver on the fairing to black as well but like I said not sure if its legit.

Only problem with waiting for the 2013's is they will go up in price to $10,647 until around the middle of the year when they start to offer more sales again and I don't see that additional price worth it if there are no other changes really.
How often are people wanting to trade rims I do agree with all that the black wheels on the red bike look great. That's one of the things I like about the R6 50th anniversary edition. A local dealer here has 4 of those sitting around as well as a red CBR so I tried to compare side by side. My only problem with the R6 is in a riding position my long legs don't fit too nice in the fairing and it seemed like it would be very uncomfortable very quickly.

^ we dont know for certian what will happen for 2013?? but its late Oct and nothing?? so odds are we wont see any changes. If you go pc route, id def look at getting the rims RED ;) now that would look sweet imo. would have to match the bikes red though. R6's are amazing bikes, but street ergos dont compare to the CBR from what ive read/heard anyway. Have you asked the dealer about the '13 models? changes or not?
Im sure if it came down to it worst case, you could tell the dealer, "look give me black rims for the whites and ill buy the bike today" odds are they will make it happen..

They sell enough bikes there that I don't know if they would lol they are a very busy powerhouse dealer with a huge inventory.
As far as changes for 2013 when I asked them they have told me from what they no nothing will be different maybe a new color later on but right away nothing.

And ask I will lol, quick question on that subject how are the factory wheel colors done? Like the black or white is it heavy coats of paint or powder coat or what? And how well does it hold up to say inconsiderate tire changers maybe in comparison to a normal powder coat job?

Well looks like I'm going to pick up a Black one tomorrow with LSL Frame Sliders, a Fender Eliminator, and rear cowl. I'll get pics as soon as I get it back home and can.

Well had the bike all of 4 days and tore it down to send all the pegs and subframe off to Tripage for mods lol, I should get it all back either tomorrow or Sat and get it put back together with pics.
I must say though mad props to T for taking care of me with this, not only did he offer me a great package deal on everything but he kept in touch and me well informed in what was going on, he was very quick and I'm going to be letting him take my CBR250R to see what kind of mods he can come up with for it.

This is what T shot me a picture of my gauge cluster as I requested red/white LED's and try to make the needle red as well. I can't wait to see it in person.

Here are a few of her right before I sold her. I hated to sell her but needed to for family needs (had to get a much bigger car for my wife) and of course had to get myself something else along with it (the 600rr) but yeah that's how life goes I plan to get either a 2013 or see what they have in store for 2014 next year for the STi's I can't go too long without one that was the 3rd one I owned. I miss it like crazy already and I only sold it 3 weeks ago lol.

I am a huge wrx fan, i love them and everyone that knows me knows I want one. I would like to own a 06-07 wrx wagon, but they are just so expensive for the year. people still ask a ton of money, but thats because they hold good value.
If i buy one, i wont sell it lol. but i am currently looking at the acura tl type s instead.

yea i have been looking everywhere. i just cant think of spending 15k on like a 204-2005 lol. thats just a lot for that year, but they hold value well. i really want a 2006-2007 white sti limited, but those are over 20k

I had a 2007 STi UGM Limited for a while the only thing I didn't like about it is they had some issues with the new EPA regulations and the ECU tuning causing some engine problems. But all that can be easily fixed with aftermarket ECU tuning (Cobb Accessport) Also if you ever find someone selling a "2006 STi Limited" they are either scamming or just wrong about the year lol 2007 was the first year they offered a limited and there were either 800 or 900 made I can't remember just off hand but they always have a number near the shifter on the interior.
If you ever have any questions about them I've had quite a bit of experience over the years with them lol I had my first one back in 2005 and have had one all the way since up until now.
