Im just learning and have the SI cage on my 05 ive dropped it from 12 several times with no ill affects yet besides sliders blowing apart lol i took the bolts out thw other night and they are all still straight tho

def feeling some vibrations through my clip ons i never had before i put the SI cage on my 06. is this a normal thing with cages since your replacing the motor mount bolts with skinnier longer bolts with a nut on the other side?
my 06 rr rolls up on the clip ons every single time it gets dropped with my SI cage. i really wish they made them sliders longer to prevent this. even just laying it down like i forgot the kickstand makes it roll up

i heard a lot of mixed opinions, you wernt the only one telling me, and there were many telling me it wont be an issue. wanna know why i went with SI? i assumed their shipping would be fast and etc. i was wrong, waited like 2 and a half weeks. i mean dont get me wrong, its a great cage. but if i had to do it over again, id get a-town, just to see how different it is. id still recommend SI cage though
will be in the market for a cage as well soon . looks like tigershaark is the way to go!!
Just make sure if you going to be stunting the bike to get the Tygershark stunt cage and not just the street cage. It may be more money for the stunt cage, but it will be worth it in the long run because you will save your bike from getting totally damaged.
What are you planning to use it for? Actually stunting or extra "just in case" protection?
No crazy stunting. Just some show off wheelie once and there.
Protection would be the main reason.lots of touring on the bike and sometimes off road. So just in case it fall over or something. Since I'm spending on a cage. I thought I might as well get a good one.
Okay , so between that and a tygershsrk apex street cage? Which would u recommend ?

A big downside to TygerShark is that they design, essentially, one cage, then tweak it to work on different bikes. It's great for maintaining an image as a brand, but that's not what we, as customers, want. We want what's best for our bikes.

heY stick, Is the impaktech designed to stop the bike from rolling up on the its top? If so that's what I plan to get at some point. I like my tygershark cage, but would rather get a design to prevent it from rolling to the top of the bike.
Yeah, it should help with that a lot. The dual sliders should help prevent it from rolling up. I know Atown was also working on a new design that featured a higher, wider second slider specifically to help with that, but I don't know if it was ever finished. You could shoot him an email and ask.
I had a powers cage liked how it didn't roll over unless I really threw the bike but after many failed circles while learning them my frame cracked below the motor mount.

well that's a bummer!! I wonder if anybody else makes sliders that will fit the tygershark stunt cages?? I have one on my bike. didn't know they closed down though. looks like i'll have to get another cage when the time comes....
okay I tried searching for these cages everywhere here and call me stupid but i couldn't find anyone mentioning anything about extreem bike works. It reminds me alot of the powers one. I was wondering if I should go with the tygershark, impaktech, or this one. http://www.thestuntfactory.com/xtbiwocrca031.html they all cost around the same. I'm not gonna be stunting but just want a cage that will protect more than just plain plastic sliders which proved to do nothing when I crashed my bike.

I never heard of extreme bike works. They must be new. Tygershark closed the business, so you have the other 2 choices.
Hmm. I didn't know other sites were selling tygershark cages. Maybe they just have cages that they bought from tygershark?? If you go to the tygershark web page they say they closed down. www.tygersharkcages.com.
