Lesson learn. Move on.
Nexttime if u need help before buying . Let us know and we can help u in the right direction. As long as the bike is running good after that new battery. Then cosmetic can be dealt later.

I wouldn't had pay 6k tho.

Damn $6k for an 07??? That's a 5yr-old bike... I think you paid way too much. If it was in pristine condition maybe its worth that, but obviously it wasn't.

Sorry to hear what happend but hope it works out for you.

He could if he had written proof but I doubt it.. Another thing I learned from my CL lemon days.. Always get a bill of sale.. And written that everything is running ok if not noted the only things not so if its a f**ked up POS I will take them to small claims and show that it was promised as stated if less than cars your MF..

Always get as much in details as possible and everything done is in email so I have a paper trail.. And NEVER pay cash only check or cashiers check with a copy some way because my buddy bought a civic SI and the dude took the cash reported it stolen and said he never got paid my buddy was sol And lost 4k.. Like I said live and learn and I've learned ALOT..

Hopefully OP knows better for the next time..

Aftermarket/repainted fairings are always a red flag. I never would consider buying a bike with them but if I did I would inspect it even more carefully. And on at least it's third battery with 5K miles would make me think the speedo cluster has been replaced with a low mile one. May have a case of odometer fraud here. Seller seems shady enough to have done that.

Whether or not he admitted to you that he dropped the bike, he mentioned it in that fairing thread of his. At least you can move forward with a better understanding of what you now have. Good luck with this one

In one of the seller's threads he also mentioned that one of the engine covers was scratched so that explains why the one side looks painted

First of all WOW!!!

I understand the OP is frustrated at the ordeal, so ill try not to take the comments too personally.

lets start with the facts, the bike has some issues. possibly electrical issues being it was hooked up to a car to attempt to start it and physical damage through out. I apologize if that comes off a bit strong, but ive worked hard for the past 7-8 years to build a reputable business that is know through the internet to have flawless quality and customer service.

being you are new to the hobby, id be more than happy to explain what these batteries are. They are a performance modification to the oem system that shed 7 lbs and provides 63% more cranking power. being its a performance part it has a certain down side, it will not tolerate over/ under charging. this is explained in the 1 year warranty

now thats out of the way lets now talk about warranties there are a few manufacturers out there that offer longer warranties, but you need to read the fine print. i could put LIFETIME WARRANTY with the fine print other people have on their stuff. the fine print gives them a way out, if the battery has ever been discharged below 10V the warranty is void (obviously if you battery is dead the voltage is below 10V thats right off the bat a out of warranty battery), then they require you to buy THEIR charger other wise instantly warranty voided... the list goes on and on. the reality is our warranty covers workmanship of the battery. If the battery has something break, or a connection is lost or something of that nature anyone of the companies out there will provide you a replacement (even out side of their warranty period)(this is because we very seldom have an issue like this)

anyway i feel bad you didnt get what you thought you bought, MOTYDesign.com has no control over that. I hope that you understand blaming us shouldnt be your knee jerk reaction. Buyer beware when purchasing a used bike, going online and ridiculing us isnt fair, we would be curious why you arent blaming Honda because it didnt start. Its really neither of our fault, a piece of equipment can only do so much and expecting a warranty to take care of this seems a bit naive. So please understand that your comments have a HUGE impact on our company which we feel we did nothing to warrant them. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

**** man I'm sorry to hear that. As everyone else has said lesson learned. Wish I knew you so I could have picked you up in my truck.

I know there are people in here who know a lot more about bikes than I do. They are all definitely willing to help you out with anything. Can't wait to hear when she is all good with no issues.

Bam!! OP take a snap shot if all his threads you now have a broken agreement and its in wrighting he dropped the bike which he said it was not..

You now have leverage to get your money back and have a case.. I suggest you do that and start fresh!

And being this is all done through .net I believe the mods should try to handle this in house and help the OP out... This is not right at all and should be fixed or at least come to some agreement or I really have no faith in this sights security and classified section especially being brought to .net attention of a shady transaction..

i sure will when the time comes but for that being said i mean i already bought the bike ive made tons of mistakes before but im not blaming anyone as i said in the first post about all of this happening i said that i do not know who is wrong and as of right now i do not really care who is wrong and who is right i wanna save myself the constant headache i mean i bought the bike with my money saved up i sold my two shitty beater car and my 250cc for this bike and i know it was a mistake but i'm just gonna make the best of it. I have learned this lesson already and i just wanted everyone to know what i just went through and hopefully no one out there has to go through what i went through pushing a bike home late and what not. Other than that im really glad i turned to .net lots of people who can help me out and much is appreciated other than that i will keep all of you guys posted about the bike im gonna remove all fairings today and remove all the unnecessary stupid electrical wires and take pics of all the points and clips of the fairing and see if i can put them all back together with a better fit and this time (NO ELECTRICAL TAPE) then i will mold this bike up to tip top condition and make the best of my 6k$ and hopefully a few of you here will be glad and happy with my build. and seriously i want to thank all of you guys just know I never blame people on here i have a tendency to only blame myself and beat myself up for my mistakes lol

I bought a dropped 08 cbr600 for 3.5k that was in alot better condition then you paid.

I know the feeling you had because we all had it. You just want the first bike you see. You kind of got screwed but learn from your mistake - it's why we make them :-)

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Thankfully you are a member on the most reliable and stand-up forum I have come across. There are great guys on here that will genuinely help you out without asking for anything in return. Sometimes I wish I was in the States to meet up with some of the guys on here (like Moeman and others) , really; maybe some day. But for now, stay positive and after you are done restoring the bike you can always out it up for sale and see if it will fetch a good price. If so, take the money and buy something else, if not keep it and ENJOY IT!

Make sure you do these 3 things when buying a used vehicle.
- Take an experienced rider/mechanic with you.
- Make sure it hasn't been totaled or reported stolen.
- Always meet at a place with lots of witnesses, preferrably a dealer that can run a complete checkup on the vehicle (on the spot) and report to both of you. (It's worth the money)

Best of luck turning this around, things will only get better hopefully. Keep us posted.

There's a reason I posted in the sellers thread that something didn't look right with that bike. You could see it through the pics.

Sorry to the OP that you got hosed.

Everybody learns, some of us the hard way. I feel your pain.

just looking at the bike should've been pretty obvious that its was a pile of trouble. no offense but no one in their right mind should've paid that much money for that bike.

5 months ago i bought my '03 with 9k miles, mint condition, garaged its whole life, and meticulously maintained for $3,600. i was without a bike for about 3 weeks, i could've easily gone and dropped $4k+ on a bike the day after i sold my previous one and had a "decent" bike with twice as many miles. but i waited til a found a good deal, and IMO it would've been worth waiting 2 months for!

NEVER go buy something just cause you can't wait or are anxious. i've had multiple friends buy cars JUST because of the rims/sound system/other mods. they all said "that's not the reason i'm buying it" and i'm not a retard so i knew they were lying out their asses. EVERY single time i've said "dont buy this car" and what do they do? buy it... and each one of them has regretted it.

my gf needed a car, we went and looked at one, it was a decent car, but i felt we could do better, told her not to buy it, she wanted it cause she needed a car, but she listened to me and said no. a week later i was able to find her a car for $1k less, 20k less miles, 2 years newer, and you could tell it had be maintained MUCH better. she still has it, loves the car and its been perfect for her.

rushing into something NEVER ends well.
