Heads and Helmets

It is common to come by people saying "you just don't have a Nolan head" or "your head was made for AGVs". Well I would like to get everyone's experience on what brands worked for you, what your head shape is and what brands and models fit you, and what doesn't. Hopefully new riders will find this thread useful as well when they venture into the overwhelming world of gear.

My head shape is considerd a very slightly ovalish round.

My limited experience so far:

Excellent Fit
Brand: Nolan/X-Lite
Model: X-802
Brand: Suomy
Model: Apex

Average Fit
Brand: Icon
Model: Alliance

Dismal fit
Brand: Caberg
Model: V2XR
Brand: AGV
Models: K-3,K-4,S-4, T-something?

Now I have been dying to get a Shoei, but no one sells them in Kuwait. So does anyone know if they are similar to Suomy and Nolan in terms of fitment? THX

This is a great topic. For me the Shoei helmets fit best. Arai seems too short so my chin felt like it was sticking out.

I've got a long head (like Alien lol) and the best fit for me is Shoei. I've only tried on a couple of brands to be fair but things like HJC gave me a headache after a couple of minutes. I've tried 3 different Shoei models (Qwest, RF1100 and X-12) and they all fit like a glove.

Shoei for me as well, felt the best after the initial 15min wearing it in the store. I havent tried any others besides Arai though. Like the Xlites though

Shark is the only helmet that I can wear for extended periods of time and be comfortable, perfect fit for meh noggin.

I have a slightly ovoid head I guess?

I can stand Arai but they get uncomfortable on my brow after about 3 hrs of riding.

AGV, Suomy, Bell and Shoei feel like someone is pushing a 2x4 against my forehead which sucks because I really like AGV.

I mean, I don't think I have a caveman-esque brow ridge but damn I can't wear anything off the shelf so I have to play games with Euro guys trying to get a shark stateside.

I agree, Shoei is the best IMO. I have a Shoei X-Twelve and have no complaints at all.
