hahaha i just ended up replacing a shorai battery. a dealership in new mexico found that the shorai wasnt able to crank a ducati, i explained that they use a prismatic cell that has a lower CCA than ours and that we would take care of it. needless to say i now have a new shop dealing our battery ;)

They will never support you like motydesign.com will.
Motydesign will stand behind his products 100% of the time all of the time.
agreed. I have two MOTYdesign batteries because of their great customer service! If they ever stop working (unlikely..lol), I'll definitely be buying more! They are always up for the task at hand, even after sitting on the shelf all winter off the charger (yes, I have a balancer)... Love both of mine!

I didnt say any particular battery was inferior. Its also an opinion.

Reason: edit
Installed my 8 Cell QD last night. My stocker is shot. I haven't seen a weight comparison with the stock battery yet so here you go. Stock battery pictured is from a 2008 600RR.

What's the USB port for? I honestly like the non rectangular case better as far as looks go but my old MOTY is still kicking so it's probably gonna be a while before I upgrade.
that port is for balance charging if you ever need to use it on a total loss bike. the reason we made the rectangular battery was really to replace 90% of the smaller hard case purchases. we feel that if you want small you should go with the 8 post or QD version as it better fits the idea of a small design and the lightest weight possible and the QD adds the feature of being able to pull the battery with out tools. The new design takes care of the other group that needs a quality long lasting battery thats still about 1.5lbs but isnt looking for small size. this case mimics the OEM size but still is only 1.5lbs, this means no modification or fillers are needed when you mount the battery.

I have HID's, LED's all over and strobes. Which is the best battery for me (how many cells)? I would like to keep it small because I'm trying to fit a small control box where the OEM battery goes.
I got one of the 8 cells with the quick disconnect. Had it the 2012 riding season, wanted to get some miles on it before putting in any comments. Overall this battery gets my full endorsement. The cost is really not that much different from other batteries, but it is for sure higher power, smaller, and lighter. Plus the quick disconnect is nice, as for some reason I hate undoing the posts when I take my battery out like one time a year. In regards to cranking power, I have 6-7 starts after sitting outside at work all day (9-10 hours), with a high of 40F. Fired right up in cold weather. Does what it is supposed to do.

standard polarity is required for most of the bikes on the market including the 600rr
