I've had my IT and Leo barely touching each other for about two seasons now and I have no melting or discoloring. The Leo is the Titanium can if that makes a difference.
If you adjust the bracket properly, you'll have more than enough room. When installing my Leo, I angled the bracket, allowing the exhaust to lower. I also highly recommend the TST IT, it's super bright and great quality.

i dont use a IT, but it was getting a little too close to the tail so i want to to see if anyone else had the same issue. I have the titanium version aswell. i'll check the bike out tomorrow and see i can adjust the bracket to lower it a bit. Thanks guys!
Without the IT, you should have more than enough room. And since you don't yet have the IT, I was suggesting a good company to purchase from. Good luck.
